💥Ford Eco Boost owners💥
After several enquiries about timing belt replacements we have gone ahead and purchased all the setting tools needed to comprehensively carry out the wet belt replacements on this engine.
The Ford EcoBoost engines use a Wet Belt instead of the traditional timing belt, the main difference is that the Wet Belt runs inside the engine in the oil and a timing belt runs on the outside of the engine.
Ford recommend these belts are replaced every 10 years or 150,000 miles, we are seeing alot of our customers hitting the 10 year mark but no way near the mileage.
We recommend getting it done between 6-8 years or 60-80,000 miles as we see alot of premature belt failures due to a lack of servicing or incorrect oil used causing the belt to actually start breaking up causing major engine damage normally resulting in a new engine.
The EcoBoost engine first came out in 2012 meaning they are now becoming due for replacement on age at the least.
