Weaver Wins in the Wet
The British Hillclimb Championship was at Loton Park Hill Climb over the bank holiday weekend. Where mixed conditions set the day up for an eventful day of competition times.
Tom Weaver in fantastic form and becoming at one with his Evo 3 took the top step in the 1100cc class in both Cup rounds. The first timed run was good enough to qualify for the British Run Off. Meanwhile making the most of the dryer conditions in event run two Tom banged in a low 47 seconds run. With changing conditions this made Tom fastest qualifier for the second Run Off and second fastest time of day. Tom heading to the start line for his Run Off had to make the best of rain coming down as he left the line. Yet he still popped in a great time to finish 7th and bagging some well deserved points.
Steve Brehaut brought his Wraith over from Guernsey returning to Loton for only the second time. Showed great potential all weekend in the tricky conditions. Steve currently sat 12th in the championship was overjoyed to qualify for the first Run Off and add another two points to his campaign.
Other events across the UK saw great results too. Congratulations to Dylan Ferret who was racing at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb on Saturday and had a class win in his newly purchased Evo 3.
Mondays racing took place at Les Val des Terres, the young up and coming Declan Brehaut placed his 1100cc Evo first in class.
Well done to all drivers over the weekend, great to see smashing times and big smiles.
