When I started The Vertex Collection, I had one slightly ambitious target.

Get a McLaren into stock within our first year.

Here we are.

Our first McLaren 570S Spider.

Bought by us. Prepped by us. Vertex stock.

This one means a bit more.

Twelve months of graft, buying cars we believe in and building Vertex our way.

And I’ll admit, walking into the office every morning, looking through the glass and seeing a McLaren sitting there with Vertex plates on just hits differently.

A year ago it was on the wish list.

Today, it’s stock.

Proud is an understatement.

It has the presence of an SVR without spending every journey shouting at the neighbours, and enough performance to turn a perfectly respectable family SUV into a very expensive bad influence.

Finished in SVO British Racing Green Ultra Metallic, this P400 HST is one of those rare specifications that makes everything parked beside it look slightly unfinished.

Sam was out of bed at 5:00am to catch this one in the golden hour.

Fair play to him, because a Mercury Silver Aston Martin V8 Vantage with a proper manual gearbox deserves more than a quick snap between breakfast and lunch.

One of the finest shapes Britain has ever produced, wrapped around a naturally aspirated V8 and finished with three pedals exactly where they belong.

Elegant enough for dinner.
Naughty enough to take the long way home.
And beautiful enough to make being awake at 5:00am seem almost reasonable.

This is old school Aston at its very best, a glorious engine, a manual gearbox, and styling that has somehow become even better with age.
