It always felt like a role that would suit my personality and being a mum of two boys, it would give me the flexibility to work around the needs of my children. My teaching style is calm and relaxed but I always balance this by making sure I stretch my pupils each and every lesson, so at the end they can leave knowing that they have moved forward. My pupils very high pass rate is a constant source

of pride for me, and because I am self employed it is one of the only indicators I have that lets me know that I am doing it right! My pass rate, coupled with the excellent scores my pupils achieve on test, has even resulted in test examiners asking me to take their own family members for lessons and from day one, all my clients have come via word of mouth and referrals only. I know that there are cheaper instructors out there, we have all seen the adverts... '5 lessons for Ā£50' and such like, but you need to ask yourself "why are they this cheap?"
Equally, I know that many of the big companies are more expensive, but all to often the instructors are not fully qualified (you can legally charge for lessons on a level 2 certificate for 6 months, 93% of trainee instructors fail the level 3 final exam) and end up leaving the industry. When it comes to placing your trust in someone, to prepare your loved ones for a life on the roads, you want to know that they will be in the hands of a 'fully' qualified instructor and one that genuinely cares for their pupils well being! You don't want someone who leaves you feeling 'ripped off' or someone who is uncomfortably 'cheap'.
