For anyone who doesn’t know her yet - meet Mj Ladybiker! 👋

Maxine does so much for the lady biker community, both personally and through Women on Wheels - a community page connecting motorcycle women for ride outs and events. She’s also been a big supporter of Ratchet & Ride over the years, so it was a real pleasure to help her out with her bike.

Maxine came to us feeling a bit disillusioned with her bike - it had recently failed its MOT, and with an incomplete service history, she was starting to fall out of love with it.

So we did a full service, from scratch, so she could know exactly what had (and hadn’t) been done. Maxine got stuck right in - removing the fairings and tank to access the air filter and spark plugs, asking loads of questions along the way to really understand her bike’s systems. Oil and filter changed, tyre pressures and chain adjusted.

Once the service was done, we turned our attention to fitting a new end can to the exhaust - even fabricating a new bracket to make it fit properly. It all came together beautifully, and hearing it run for the first time got a smile on Maxine’s face that was ear to ear 😃 (swipe to the end and you’ll see why)

A lovely, relaxed workshop - we didn’t stop talking the whole way through! And importantly, Maxine left feeling so much more confident with her bike.

THIS IS WHAT WE LIKE TO SEE!! 🙌

Ladies getting hands-on at a Ratchet & Ride workshop 💪

Whether it’s a 1:1 or one of our group sessions, you’ll be getting your hands dirty putting what you’ve learnt into practice - it’s one of the best ways to learn!

It also means you get to know your bike specifically, and can ask Kate questions about any quirks or things specific to your own bike.

We’ve still got summer dates free to book - find our upcoming availability on the website 📆

What a FANTASTIC day running an off-roading motorbike maintenance workshop alongside Louise’s Ladies at MotoCamp Wales! 🏍️

We had 5 ladies worked on their own bikes, learning what maintenance checks to do before going out on the trail (checking and cleaning brake pads and calipers, chain adjustment, and more.)

We started off by getting to know our bikes better, checking for any leaks, and talking through general maintenance. We also covered how to fix things like mirrors and levers, which can break if the bike is dropped (which happens a bit more often off road!!)

It was so great to see the ladies getting stuck in, with so many questions being asked - brakes seemed to be a common theme with most of the ladies, so that’s where we ended up concentrating!

Feedback has been so good we’re planning to do it again next year, maybe even with a few dates to choose from - so keep your eyes peeled! Sign up to the mailing list to be the first to know: https://www.ratchetandride.co.uk/newsletter-sign-up

🛠️ Ladies’ Day 2025 – cancelled (for now) 🛠️

A quick update from us. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ve unfortunately had to cancel this year’s Ladies’ Day, which was due to take place on Saturday 13th September.

If you’ve already bought a ticket, don’t worry: full refunds are on the way and will be processed shortly.

We’re really hoping to bring the event back even bigger and better in the future, and we’ll be sure to let you know when we do!

In the meantime, we’re still running 1:1 workshops and offering supervised workshop space. Head to the website to check out the latest available dates: https://www.ratchetandride.co.uk/book-online

Thank you for your understanding and, as always, if you’ve got any questions, feel free to drop us a message 💬

Last weekend’s happy customer: Steve 😄

Steve got stuck into checking tyre pressures, chain tension, and removing + cleaning brake pads – plus a bit of bonus tinkering on Kate’s new bike to finish up.

And of course, Aisha 🐾 was on hand to make sure everything was up to standard.
