A Renault Megane in today with boosting issues and a blocked dpf in the 1.5 Dci engine.

Higher miles and short runs also equals a blocked dpf and plenty of carbon build up!

Customer received a pack of our Forte specialist cleaners alongside his carbon clean and Dpf regeneration and vehicle was soon back to normal!

We do a varied type of cleaners to suit all types of requirements... Some of which are as follows

Carbon cleaning -

Carbon cleaning is a cheap yet efficient way of eliminating carbon deposits from your vehicle.

Carbon builds up in all vehicles, the way to prevent this is by using good quality low ash oils for servicing, doing it regularly!!, good quality fuel and good long runs to allow the carbon deposits to be burnt off.

The price for carbon cleans starts at £40 depending upon the size of the vehicle it may be slightly more :) .

We now stock a varied amount of Forte cleaners, with this company being the few and far between one that actually does what it says...

Everyone always regularly changes the oils in the vehicle but what about the internals?, the carbon thats been building up due lack of servicing, short runs, poor fuels and oils, all those traces left behind overtime will build up and cause carbon deposits, this in turn will obviously cause the vehicle to not run at its peak, wether that be poorer fuel consumption, lack of power, smoke or idling issues and much more.... Good morning everyone!.

Been another busy week here today with carbon cleans, dpf regenerations and turbo issues so apologies for no updates recently...

Just thought I'd put a little post up about what our services involve, for the people that are not sure of what this is, then I hope this post helps give you some insight :)

What is carbon?

Carbon is a buildup of a residue left behind by incomplete fuel combustion... Think of like when you have a fire in your house and the chimney walls get lined with soot?... Essentially the same effect although some vehicles are not as bad as others.

How does carbon cleaning work?

We use a safe hydrogen gas based system that hooks up through your air intake and slowly over a set period of time during the process the hydrogen gas will react with the carbon built in the engine and turn it into hydro carbons... This then allows the carbon to essentially breakdown and pass through the exit of the vehicle as a gas.

Whats the issues carbon buildup can cause?

Well depending upon the severity will depend upon the issues, it can completly vary but some of the symptoms are as follows...

Air/fuel ratios incorrect causing rough idling and poor starting.

Blocked injectors, clogged Egr, stuck valves

Poor fuel consumption and throttle responses and power.

Engine misfiring, smoke from the exhaust and faulty sensors

Dpf issues.

Is Carbon cleaning expensive?.

Prices vary from vehicle to vehicle and the levels of treatment required...

1.0 - 2.0 - £50

2.0 - 3.0 -£55

3.0 - 4.0 - £ 60

4.0 and above - POA
