An ongoing job at the moment, vehicle came in as a non start breakdown.

The techs checked and confirmed a timing chain failure - quicker to remove the engine that attempt to do in place

The cylinder head has been been removed and we have found failed valves, this will be sent off to have the head tested and reworked

Parts have been ordered to carry on rebuilding once the head is returned

We carried out a timing belt replacement on this Citroen C3 this week and it looks to have been just in time.

All carried out using Genuine parts and a complete check over by removing the sump, clearing out the oil pickup gauze as well as the vacuum pump to check for any belt fragments.

These jobs are quite intensive compared to regular timing belt replacements but a new timing belt and outlay will be a lot cheaper than a failed engine

We are regularly carrying out PSA wet belt replacements which cover some engines on the following brands:
Peugeot/Citroen/DS/Vauxhall/Jeep/Fiat

We have also been carrying out replacements on the Ford wet belts

A vehicle in today for a long overdue service. The oil was a thick black sludge which undoubtedly would have been doing no good to the internal components.

New Oil filter, New Shell Helix Ultra Oil
Brand new Pollen filter and Air filter
Brake fluid replacement and Inspection Service carried out

We have found a few issues in the Engine Management which may be causing performance issues that were also a customer complaint - these will be sent over to the customer once priced up

Now that the April fools jokes have finally stopped, here's our Easter opening hours

Good Friday - Closed
Saturday - Closed
Sunday - Closed
Easter Monday - Closed

Back in Tuesday bright and early where we will be having a few days of training which will be done while we work so shouldn't impact service too much

The phone will divert to the new answering machine, give it a go and we will follow up with any enquiries once we are back

We are excited to introduce a new feature to our phone lines during busy periods, lunchtimes and out of hours which allows us to take your enquiries.

In the next few months it will allow customers to book in directly to our system but until then it will take your enquiries

A while ago we mentioned we can now carry out transmission servicing/flushing via our new ATF machine
Obviously a new tool takes a while to market but while servicing the transmission on a Landrover Freelander recently, we managed to get some photos

The vehicle had a haldex oil change with new filter before we moved on to the gearbox, transmission flush added and allowed to work its way through the system then, all the oil was drained, including the torque converter ready to be refilled with clean fresh oil

This method changes 99% of the oil as it does it while vehicle is running and the oil is being circulated.

As you know we are constantly trying to improve and better our services..

We are in the testing phase of a chat function which we will send invites over to random customers when they drop their vehicles off, selecting one or two each day

This should help the communication process and aid in explaining certain jobs and tasks which may not relay well over a telephone conversation

Due to the volume of calls we receive, its becoming increasingly difficult to call out, though we do this where we can. There will be a few new features and changes being carried out over the next couple of weeks which should help us better our services

Aaand that’s a wrap on 2025!
Although this year has felt very difficult, upon reflection we achieved quite a lot, so we can only thank our customers for their patience while we have done these changes

What changes you ask?
✔️ Opened a new reception and waiting area
✔️ Bought new equipment for the new year to service Automatic Transmissions
✔️ Taken over the remainder of the site, giving our customers more space to park and in turn allow us to take on more work
✔️ New customer pickup/drop off area
✔️ Employed more staff
✔️ Started a new business Riots Autos Ltd which is now running independently on site with ourselves.

All which have been small improvements while continuing to serve our customers needs and here’s a look at how we did..

225 Online Booking received by customers
992 Tyres sold
3100 Vehicle inspections carried out

A fantastic year in numbers and a lot achieved..
We’ve had ups and downs but ultimately got there in the end and aim to improve for the new year!
