Mandatory DTCO 1381 Tachograph Software Update!

The current DTCO 4.1 software will require a MANDATORY update to DTCO 4.1b software, which will be available from September 1, 2025.

From October 15, 2025, periodic inspections can only be completed if the DTCO has been updated to version 4.1b. Any attempt to perform an inspection without the software update to 4.1b will be blocked.

As we are an official reseller of Continental products via Skillray Transport Services UK, we are here to support all customers with any questions regarding the 4.1b software update.

We are upgrade ready and the whole process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

When booking your Smart 2 (2024 onwards) Tachograph in for calibration, ask them if they can perform the Smart 2 upgrade and if not, call us!

See the attached letter from Continental regarding Smart 2 Tachograph software updates.

These updates are, in Continental's view, mandatory.

This will add extra time, and cost, to your 4.1x calibrations from the 1st of September.

If, after this date, your centre isn't doing the update, ask them why.

If you have a second generation Smart Tachograph (VDO or Stoneridge) and it's coming up soon for a calibration, get it done this coming month.

From the 1st of September 2025, a software / security upgrade will be MANDATORY, adding an extra £50 - £100 + VAT to the calibration fee.
