If you have stopped at a red light, is it ok to proceed if an emergency vehicle with blue lights on, comes up behind you?

Today is Driving Instructor Day โ€” a chance to recognise the incredible work driving instructors and driver trainers do every single day.
The date marks the early days of driver testing in the UK. The driving test was introduced in 1935, and 16 March recognises one of the first recorded driving test passes. Ever since, instructors have played a vital role in helping people learn to drive safely and responsibly.
But instructors do far more than teach someone how to pass a test.
They build confidence, calm nerves, develop safe attitudes to driving and help create safer roads for everyone. For many learners, their instructor is the person who helps them believe they can do it.
At the Institute of Master Tutors of Driving, weโ€™re proud to support a community of instructors, trainers and road safety professionals who are committed to raising standards and sharing knowledge across the profession.
