A Message from the Heart (and the Hospital Bed)
To our loyal customers and friends,
Life has a way of throwing a curveball when you least expect it. Nine days ago, I was admitted to the hospital with a life-threatening condition. While I am still here recovering, I wanted to reach out and share something that has kept me going.
They say you find out who your true friends are in a crisis. For me, that person is Marcus. We’ve been friends for over 20 years, and without hesitation, he stepped up to the plate. While I focus on getting better, Marcus has single-handedly kept Jan’s Service Centre running.
What moves me most isn't just the work he’s doing at the garage—it’s the man himself. He visits me almost every day, but he refuses to talk shop. He comes as a friend, not a manager, making sure I’m okay and keeping the burden of the business off my shoulders.
Marcus, thank you. You are the definition of a brother.
To our customers: Jan’s has been a family-run staple in this community for over 50 years—from the JFP (Just Ford Parts) days to our home now at Jan’s. I know I can trust Marcus’s knowledge and experience implicitly. You are in the safest hands possible while I recover..

Well after having a shock of my life today I am still here.
Talk about fight or flight. I was gone hahaha.
So last week we found oily footprints in the workshop. Near the entrance coming into the workshop.
Then in the reception area. Then in the office area.
We was guessing what it could be.
Cat ? No to small really.
Bird? Would have to be large. Crow size. Would have thought we would hear it flapping about.

Sat at my desk this morning I heard a noise. Sounded almost like wings flapping. Looking around couldn't see anything.
THEN BOOM SAW IT FROM THE CORNER OF MY EYE.
OMG all I saw 6 incches away under my desk was a head.
I jumped up and legged it out the office. Closely followed by Marcus lol.
Went back and looked. Its a bloody hedgehog.
Awwwww poor little thing.
Gave it a drink of water.
Put it in a box and put it in the garden out the back.

MASSIVE THANKS to our neighbours and Aaron for the promt messages telling us the garage Alarm was going off.
The police attended within 15 minutes. So thankyou to Kirkby-in-Ashfield Police Station Sutton-in-Ashfield Police Station for your quick response.
Its was a false alarm today. Fortunately.
No spiders have been squashed or harmed during this post 🤣🤣🧐
Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
But I am very appreciative of the fact that we have good people put there helping to keep JANS SERVICE CENTRE LTD safe.

From old skool yesterday to new skool today.
Electric Vehicles use the exact same suspension setups as every other car.
So we have a polestar in today.
Rear shock absorber was shocking lol. Leaked its fluid out and failed its first mot.
Polestar couldn't get a rear shock absorber any time soon as they are on back order.
We went far and wide and managed to locate an aftermarket replacement.
Quite a simple set up and a straightforward job.

As you can see from the pic. The genuine part is a made in China part
The replacement bilstein sock absorber is built in Germany. So chances are the aftermarket shock absorber is better than the original thats failed after 3yrs.

Blast from the past in the workshop today.
Jaguar x-type v6 petrol 4x4.
Oooooo its gunna be a pain.
Can tell as soon as we walked underneath it.
It is in for a full clutch and dual mass flywheel with a concentric slave cylinder.

Well after an insult from 1 of my customers haha
Calling my comfy sketchers spazy (her words not mine)
I decided to treat myself.
After some research these are meant to be good for people who spend alot of time on there feet. (Stuff off, I'm not always sat down)
I'm giving these a try.
I like the look and feel so will see how I go.

Transit in for oil leak. Its everywhere. Gotta start somewhere.
Injector seals pouring out. So new ones fitted.
Looks like the flow has stopped.
Hate leaks as all you can do is start from the highest part. Fix it and wait.
