I have made the difficult decision to close down the mx5mods shop for the foreseeable future. I’m very thankful to the great customer base who have made this all possible, and incredibly proud of some of the designs I’ve managed to create and offer during this time.

I will still be active personally within the Mx5 community. But no longer selling such parts. There’s very very limited stock left of parts on the website, so it really is very last chances for those items!

I will be posting up a few additional parts soon, specifically prototypes, samples or one offs so keep an eye out.

Here we are, the completed product!
The mx5mods gated shifter!

Here you can see the full design and everything that’s included.

As previously discussed and shown here, the entire assembly is bolted directly to the gearbox! So no issues with relative movement usually associated with these. Works with stock or aftermarket centre console!

Custom 303 stainless steel gear lever, stock height, shift pattern, and thread on top. Beautiful stainless hardware, aluminium mount, powder coated cover plate, etc.

The design allows you to reuse all the oem seals and bushings! I’ve tested this on 2x cars and in real world testing have found the noise levels and overall NVH to be very close to stock. (Thanks to Dan O'Brien)

2.5mm thick brushed stainless steel, rubber seals and new mounting bolts. Significantly cheaper than the others on the market, and ideal for classic or many other aftermarket style mirrors.

Delighted to present the prototype mx5mods 5 speed gated shifter!
Unique design whereby the whole assembly is mounted directly to the gearbox itself, rather than the body, which negates the problem usually associated with these.

The final product will include a custom 303 stainless steel gear lever, aluminium mount, cover plate, gate, all stainless hardware, seals etc to make it simple to install and oem feeling!
Where possible it reuses many of your current oem parts to ensure the end feel is of the highest quality.

Pricing is still TBC, and I will be doing these as a very limited first batch.

Wing mirrors finally back in stock! I’ve limited availability, so offering here for pre-order before publicising elsewhere! Will be posted out to you start of June.

New shape side mirrors, which bolt up to the stock oem mounting holes as shown. They fit the Mk1, 2 and 2.5 (1989-2005) (NA, NB, NB2) These bolt directly up to the oem mounting holes, and take 5 minutes to fit! As per government advice, mx5mods is on temporary lockdown during the Covid-19 outbreak. This obviously means no outstanding, or new orders are able to be shipped.

During this time however, I will be working on increasing our customer online interaction, and hopefully running some competitions etc. To give everyone a bit of entertainment and a boost when we can start back up!
