And if grape juice turns sour, it transforms into wine, which is even more expensive than grape juice. You are not bad because you made mistakes. Mistakes are the experiences that make you more valuable as a person. Christopher Columbus made a navigational error that made him discover America. Alexander Fleming’s mistake led him to invent Penicillin. Don’t let your mistakes get you down. It is not practice that makes perfect. It is mistakes we learn from that makes perfect!
Don't be scared of mistakes, bigger steps ahead, just keep going.

I’m proud to congratulate Bobby Rose who passed his pratical driving test first time today with only a handful of driver faults ( minors),
And also the first to pass in the new car 😂

Thank you for allowing me to help you gain your driving license, all you hard work really paid off today.

I will miss our laughs, but wish you well in the future, now onto full bike licence 👍

I’d like to congratulate Georgina Martin on passing her practical test first time today in Bury St Edmunds today.

Georgina was asked to do a forward bay park, and perform an emergency stop ✋
As well as follow the Sat Nav for 20 mins as her independent drive.
I’m so proud of her as she worked very hard to get this fantastic result today.

The day your child comes home beaming and smiling is a fantastic day for them and you, with that blue pass certificate in their hand.

But then the reality of the situation kicks in, they can now go off on their own or with their friends unsupervised driving their car, all the responsibility for the safety is on them, all the worry is on you.

People often say “WOW the DVSA recommends 45 hours with an instructor plus 20+ hours private practice, that’s a lot!”
Is it ?
How many hours is the average baby in the womb?
6570.007 hours= 9 months, protected in the mothers body.

All through school years, children are taught, protected and sheltered from danger.

Throughout those years they have learned subjects, often having to go back over and relearn, and reevaluate the taught lessons, that’s how everyone learns.

Teaching someone to drive is much the same, various skills and topics are taught on the move, now the ears are listening to information, the eyes are looking, the hands and feet are having to work independently, whilst the brain tries to process all this information and keep everything safe.

It’s a tough skill to learn, the hours to learn fall into insignificance, compared to the outcome if your skill base and knowledge base is not solid.

Your parents want you safe when you go out in the car, instructors want you safe.

…Driving Test..

Have you ever noticed all those passes and happy faces on every driving instructors page - including mine?

While it is great to see those happy faces it is really important to be aware of the hard work, and sometimes tears, it takes to get that test pass. It's a moment worth celebrating, and that's just what we do. We celebrate!

But what about those who don't pass? The driving test is not an easy thing to do.

Each and every pupil who takes their driving test battles nerves, excitement, sometimes self doubt, and a hundred other emotions..... it can sometimes end in a failed test.

If it wasn't such an insensitive thing to do I would put their picture on my page too and celebrate their bravery for trying so hard to pass. Especially knowing they are planning to put themselves through it all over again.

Behind every pass is a pupil who didn't pass.
And what about the instructor?

What about me?

Truth be told, when I watch my brave pupil drive off with the examiner I wish for nothing other than a happy ending.

Seeing your efforts result in victory is incredibly special, the very best feeling. Sitting with a pupil who didn't pass is gut wrenching!!

I don't have a 100% pass rate, no instructor does.
But what I do have is you at the centre of my driving world.

When you drive off to start your test I want to put your smiling face on my page, and if it's not today, it will be next time....

To all my pupils with their driving tests approaching....

Don't give up - you've come so far.....

You will do this!!
