Another BMW chain job underway today 🔧

This one being a 2018 420i - (B48 engine)

Customer brought it to us with complaints of occasional rough idle and intermittent loss of power.. After carrying out a diagnostic scan we found various codes relating to an issue with the Exhaust Camshaft Vanos (variable valve timing)

On further inspection we found that the timing chain was loose between the Inlet & Exhaust Camshaft sprockets.. The Exhaust Camshaft Sprocket is locked in one position (should be adjusting) 🤦🏻
To go any further with this we had to remove the complete engine & gearbox to then gain access to the Timing Chain!

Looking to be a very extensive & costly job this one! Keep your eyes peeled to see exactly what has caused this issue! 👀🤔

1998 Subaru Impreza Prodive 2.0turbo recovered to us with 0 compression 💥

Cylinder head removed and this is what we found..

Not such a ‘Good Friday’ for the owner of this old classic Audi S4 this morning 🤦🏻‍♂️

The wish bone broke away from the ball joint and the car was completely slammed to the floor and immobilised!

We quickly recovered the car and will have it repaired and back on the road in no time ✅
