Our Story

Van hire, car hire and self-drive vehicle services in Swindon and Melksham. Duncan Self Drive Hire have provided affordable vehicle hire and self-drive services in the Swindon area since 1969 & Melksham since April 2017. Our hire vehicles include a full range of cars, minibuses, people carriers, small and large vans and Lutons. Vehicle rental in Swindon and Melksham. All vehicles are rented with the following conditions : • All payments should be made by credit or debit card. (No American Express). • A minimum deposit of £25.00 is required to secure a booking, and full payment is required within 1 week of collection date, any refund of deposit or pre-payment will be entirely at the discretion of management. • Driving licence and supporting documents are required when you collect the vehicle. • It is the condition of the hire that all vehicles must be returned in a clean condition and with a full tank of fuel. A charge will be made ofr any cleaning or refuelling required. • The rental charge always includes VAT and insurance. However the hirer is responsible for the first £500.00 cost of any accident damage. This can be reduced to £250.00 by the purchase of an insurance waiver. If the hirer does not wish to purchase the insurance waiver, a £500.00 deposit will be required. This will be fully refunded on return of the vehicle undamaged and refuelled. • Overhead damage, windscreens, internal damage, tyre damage and missing radio and accessories however caused, is not covered by any insurance and is the full responsibility of the driver. All drivers must provide the following documents: 1. Current driving licence. Drivers must be between 21 to 74 (25 to 70 - Minibuses) years of age and will have held the licence for at least one year. 2. Two forms of ID: Such as: utility bill, bank statement or similar (not more than three months old). The address on your ID must correspond with your driving licence. 3. DVLA check: Check code, print out or National Insurance Number required. 4. Payment: Only credit or debit cards (not American Express) can be accepted as payment. Disabled Access Vehicles Through our association with "Duncan Private Hire" we are able to offer a selection of specialist wheelchair access and DDA compliant vehicles of various sizes for short or longer term rental to suit customer requirements.
