Don’t Loose Youre head 🤯..

One of our regular customers dropped this TTS in to investigate a coolant leak and slight missfire 😬 .. we quickly identified the source of the problem to be a failed head gasket fault. Luckily there was no block or head damage so it was a strip down and build back up with all new gaskets / bolts / oil /coolant and it’s back running as it should 👌🏼.

Standard engine oil just isn’t going to cut it! This beast was treated to V300 high performance 5w40 supplied to us by as recommended by the tuner . Getting the right oil in cars like this is essential. This M5 has barely done 5k miles since the last oil service and as you can see from the condition of the oil filter how important it is to service highly tuned cars like this at much lower intervals than recommended by the manufactureres. 🚗💥💨

RS ThuRSday ….

We had this nicely spec’d RSQ3 in for Major Service DSG Service and new Brembo discs and Pads. The customer was also complaining of an missfire under load and a few knocking noises, the missfire turned out to be the common coilpack failure so all 5 were replaced for peace of mind and the knocking noises was diagnosed a pair of failed console bushs and a CV joint.
After giving the car a full health check we also could see the coolant header tank was stained purple which is the tell tale sign of a failed silica bag on the coolant system so the reservoir was replaced and coolant system flushed. Car now has a full bill of health and one more happy customer.

This stunning S3 8V saloon came in for a resonator delete, we've replaced the factory resonator with a stainless steel tig welded straight pipe for the best quality and much improved sound! Such a simple modification really changes this car, a must do for all MQB platform cars in our opinion.

VW Passat B7 estate in last week for a major service and investigation to a slightly rough idle, we found the dual mass flywheel to be the cause of the fault. The car is booked in for a new clutch and flywheel kit soon to rectify the issue experienced.

We had this Audi Q5 in a few weeks back now for a check over due to it being a recent purchase. Along with the check over it had a major service and cambelt with water pump. Upon inspection we found a fault with the DSG gearbox which resulted in the box needing to be stripped and the manual side of the box repaired. Sadly this is a common issue with these cars and now the box has been repaired with a new gear set this shouldn't be an issue for future ownership. We also carried out a full valet and fitted an RS style grill to make the car feel like new ✅

Now the new owner can really get that new car feel!

A returning customer for some new rear brakes to match the set of front brakes we previously fitted. They also had the common issue with the silicon bag splitting in the expansion tank, this required a coolant flush with a fresh new expansion tank and to top it all off we also carried out a major service ✅

Here's a cracking example of why cheapest isn't always best! This is an oil filter removed from a VW that previously had non genuine service parts fitted, the clean filter is genuine. The old filter has collapsed and started to break up, not doing its job and could potentially cost you more money in the long run due to oil starvation. It's why we only stick to genuine parts or well known OE equivalents

A very nice example of a VW Caddy LWB in for a major service, not much to report on this one other than a seal needing to be replaced for the turbo inlet pipe (quite common on these engine)

This vehicle has been regularly serviced with genuine parts and you can definitely see that when you removed the old filters, they weren't heavily contaminated or worn.

TTs Thursday!

We had this TTs in previously for a replacement clutch and flywheel, whilst doing that repair we noticed a large oil leak coming from the top of the engine. The customer re-booked the vehicle in with us last week for the leak to be investigated and repair carried out. These engines are very common for the rocker cover seal to go hard over time and crack causing pretty bad oil leaks. Genuine seals fitted and a good clean up and the leak was fixed. ✅
