Paul Mackie would like to thank his customers and friends in the local community for their continued support and business over the last 25+ years of First Drive Cars, however recently took the decision to retire and in January 26 sold the business to enjoy early retirement and do some cycling and horse riding!, We wish Paul a very happy retirement!

The business will continue with the original team and new additions Graham and Kathleen as Auto Lounge MOT & service centre, we will endeavour to provide the same friendly and cost effective approach to looking after customer cars, we are investing in the facility, staff and equipment to try improve on the great business Paul has built and entrusted to us. We appreciate your patience while we implement new systems, carry out work going on around the business and launch a fresh website in due course. For now it’s business as usual and we look forward to welcoming you for a nice coffee and catch up on your next visit!

Apologies to all our customers, especially those with current bookings, we remain without power, phone and internet at Firstdrive (also without all these at my home address 😕)
Appreciate this is inconvenient and frustrating for customers, hopefully back on sometime tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Dear customers,

We hope you're all keeping well during these difficult times. Not the start to the new year that we all hoped for but hopefully the end is in sight, so stay strong for each other and stay safe.

The garage remains open as usual, we have all necessary measures in place to keep staff and customers safe. For those shielding, and for vulnerable customers we can pick up and drop off vehicles, thereby limiting social contact (we're also happy to do this if you're just a bit worried, please just let us know when you get in touch).

There are no plans at present to give any further extensions to MOT'S so please check yours and give yourself plenty of time to book your vehicle in with us.

Wishing all our customers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, thank you for your support and custom throughout the last year, we have appreciated it enormously. The garage is now closed until Monday 4th January 2021 for the team to have a well deserved rest, you can continue to make bookings through the website meantime 🙌☺️

An Important update for our customers, old and new.

Firstly we would like to give a huge thanks for all your support through these difficult times, for your patience when needed and your kind words and deeds (cakes and sometimes beers 🍺 too). As the full Firstdrive team of mechanics return in force from next week, we hope you won’t need to be quite so patient as we resume our more usual speedy service ...although kind words, cakes etc. are always welcome 🙂
We have been very glad to have been here to support NHS staff and key workers, older and vulnerable customers when it really mattered most, and to have continued to offer our usual standard of service to existing customers, as well as welcoming new ones, in challenging times.
Whilst we are really pleased, as are we all, to be moving towards something that looks and feels more like ‘normal’ please be assured that we will still be putting safety first, and for those that need or want it, continuing to offer a pick up and drop off, no contact service.
This year is Firstdrive’s 25th year of business, and though this year has felt far from celebratory in many ways we are happy and proud to have built the business that continues to be here for our community, to be a business that is built on honesty, value for money, great service and excellent customer care.

COVID-19 IMPORTANT CUSTOMER NOTICE. WE ARE ESSENTIAL WORKERS AND REMAIN OPEN.

The government has asked us to keep our garages open to ensure that all key workers, people supporting our local communities, those in the transport sector, and individuals that rely upon their car to collect shopping and fulfil their pharmacy needs, are able to do so.

As such we remain open and operational, committed to keeping our customers safe and on the road, fulfilling warranty requirements and ensuring vehicle servicing is up to date.

We can arrange free pick up and drop off. Your safety is, as always, our top priority.

Whilst MOT’s have been extended to bring relief to people where necessary, please be assured you can still have your vehicle MOT’d if you wish, primarily to ensure that your car is safe and roadworthy. You may also wish to maintain your current MOT timing rather than deferring to October when it could be more difficult to arrange appointments.

Please be advised that Firstdrive remains open at present to ensure our customers can undertake essential trips safely in roadworthy vehicles. Your safety remains our top priority. We have stepped up our already rigorous approach to preventing any risk of transmitting infection between team members and to our customers. The reception/ waiting area is closed to the general public. We ask that you contact us by phone or email to arrange appointments and for details on dropping off and picking up your vehicle, or with any questions regarding current service.
We are prioritising certain groups of people at this time, please be patient.
Please do not turn up at the garage without prior arrangement.
