BRAKE FADE 📋🚗

'Brake fade' is when the brakes become less effective because of overheating. It may happen if you use them continuously, such as on a long, steep downhill stretch of road. In this situation, use a lower gear to help you control the vehicle's speed.

First time pass for Katie at Buxton Test Centre after completing a semi-intensive course. Although Katie had done her driving lessons in and around the Stoke/Newcastle areas she was unable to book a local test. We made two visits to Buxton to try and familiarise the area in readiness for her test day. A great result for her after having put in the time and effort. Off to Uni she’s goes in September safe in the knowledge that she now as her full driving licenc. Safe driving Katie. Now you can go and smash Uni, not literally of course 😂😂.

A great result for you with an impressive drive and even the examiner past comment on how well you had done. Enjoy your new found independence it’s well deserved. Using the road general advice, from Rule 159

Before moving off you should:

👀 use all mirrors to check the road is clear

👁️ look round to check the blind spots (the areas you are unable to see in the mirrors)

💡 signal if necessary before moving out

👀 look round for a final check.

Move off only when it is safe to do so 🚗
