Volkswagen Golf R with a DQ350 endcap gearbox seals have clearly seen better days and leaking but unfortunately they are unavailable from VW. Now that doesn’t stop us 👊 A short bit of research and a phone call later they were delivered to us from a supplier up north 🙂

Full gearbox / mechatronic service now underway should keep this gearbox from destroying itself! 🫡

Yes we put the center holes in the seals for removal 🤣 we didnt want to damage the box casing or cause any other problems 🙂

Another Audi MMI fault sorted 🎉🎉

This one is a weird one! The car came to me with a faulty MMI screen (as seen in the first photo) but fully working audio/bluetooth available with a replacement screen wrapped up in the boot ready to fit! We got it all together and unfortunately no change!
We used specialist diagnostics to test everything but still no fault codes or issues found. After some extensive research it turns out someone had previously tried to repair this issue using the wrong part numbers from wrong vehicles 🙄 I managed to find the correct part numbers for the vehicle using our network of suppliers to find that the screen it should have is actually a 8.2” screen and not the 6.2” low def the car already had installed 🙄 surely whoever tried to rectify this would of noticed the difference in size to start with😭

Replacement screen sourced and fitted and even threw in a cheeky nav update too just for good measure 😜

A 2017 peugeot 308 came to us as the satnav was running maps from 2014 and the software for the stereo was also a few years behind!

In under an hour we located the correct software and was able to upload and update the whole entertainment system 🙂
Customer now has full 2025 map database with added speed camera locations (just incase 👀) and a much smoother/faster running stereo with a few added changes! 🙂

Last post of the week is our good friend Emil Niedzwiecki and his Mondeo!
Unfortunately the slave cylinder inside the gearbox had popped resulting in a contaminated clutch so all needed replacing lucky for Emil he has a warranty covering issues like this so stress free repair as we also dealt with all the paperwork / recovery and agro on his behalf too!

As this absolute barge is too long for my garage the lads over at Sargeants gave me a chuck and let us use their space and talents to get this in and out as fast as we could!

Love the odd job like this

Customers battery had died and after a jump start they had lost the mmi and all the radio!
I removed the mmi module/amplifier and we found a capacitor inside to be at fault
We had the capacitor repaired but the coding needed redoing too so after refitting the module and recoding it back to factory settings the customer now has full mmi and radio operations again!

Bit of a weird call out today 🤣
Customer of ours had an issue with his barge engine and in my head an engine is an engine right 🙈🤣
The cooling system on this setup actually heated the outer skin of water tank inside the boat which allowed the owner to have a constant feed of fresh hot water throughout the appliances but had recently lost the heating

After diagnosis we found the impeller of the waterpump to be faulty - simple fix with a replacement pump, coolant flush and change with a happy customer 🤟🏼
