What’s hiding under your rocker cover? 👀🔧

This is a perfect example of why regular servicing and the correct oil are so important and why it doesn’t matter that your car doesn’t do many miles. And ignore these new longer service intervals if you want your car to last!

We went to this customer the other week to do a service as they not long got the car. We noticed the oil filter hadn’t been changed for awhile and during our checks, diagnosed an oil leak. We went back to sort it and once the rocker cover came off, we were met with a pretty nice build-up of old oil, sludge and deposits around the top of the engine. Imagine this going round the engine 😳

When servicing is neglected or oil is left in for too long, deposits like this can build up and potentially lead to much bigger (and more expensive!) problems.

Sometimes we just can’t take your money! 👀

We went to a job yesterday for one of our repeat customers. They had bought a new run around and wanted to get the timing belt done as it was over due. When we got there we noticed a lot of paint on and around the sills so did alittle looking and poking around. Safe to say this thing needs more work than it’s worth. So rather than taking afew hundred pound of them knowing it’s going to need more spending purely to make money. We cancelled the job, charged nothing and going to help them look for a more reliable, less rusting through car 🚗

Did we loose out on money, yes. Could we have slept tonight if we did the job knowing the car was most likely going to get scrapped in afew months, no. And that’s where we are different from a lot of mechanics. We won’t just do things to make money 💴

Something a little different this year! We’re doing a charity drive with one of our good friends who own a few classics and have agreed for us to take one! How very kind of them!

On Sunday the 27th of September 2026, I'm driving in The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that.

Happy bank holiday everyone! 🚐

We are enjoying a nice day off and luckily we seemed to have missed the rain because the van needed a bit of TLC. Thankfully these boys weren’t taking the day off and were able to come to the rescue after a lovely big stone tried to take out our windscreen last week. 🪨

Thanks to the boys at Fix.Glass who came out at short notice, on a bank holiday too, to keep us on the road which helps keep you on the road! 🛣️

Multiple leaks resolved 💧

We were out at this mondeo for the last 2 afternoons after it was diagnosed with 3 leaks. Turbo, gearbox and rear main seal was what we were told but after we looked at it we seen it was actually the upper sump rather than rear main. So upper sump sealed, new gearbox seal and turbo replaced. Defiantly had its punch back 💪

All done at the customers home while the customer got on with their days 🏠

When a suspension refresh turns into a play date? 🙄

We were at this van yesterday for one of our repeat customers doing a suspension refresh at the front including 2x inner and outer track rods,
2x front shocks and top mounts and 2x lower arms. However in true part supplier fashion the shocks were wrong so the wife had to bring me the correct ones. Which turned into the mini apprentice wanting to stay but rather than helping she had a 2 hour play date with the customers daughter while I had to work! 😂

As always done at the customers home at a time that worked for them. While their children played rather than being dragged out to garages to drop off and pick up 🏠

When your packing the horse power, your gotta pack the stopping power too 🐎

We were out today changing the brakes on this RS4 because the last thing you want is the horses to run away and refuse to stop. Don’t they look pretty! 🌺

We done brakes all round and yes, these were eye watering to buy but when you have an R, S or rare in your cars name/description they generally require deeper pockets than your run of the mill car. Something to consider before buying that nice sports car 💸

When the cold air isn’t cold 🥶

This air conditioning compressor had seen better days and was the underlying cause for this customers car not getting cold. We managed to get it sorted so now not only if any more heat waves come they can keep cool, but to help with de-misting and moisture control in the colder months ahead 🍂

All done at the customers home a long side a full service. I do wonder when this filter was last changed. They are usually forgotten about or added extras on most full services but with our services we make it simple. Basic oil and filter and fill which they come as standard. I mean just look at what it was catching! 🚗
