Almost the bank holiday folks, and it looks like it'll be a warm one.

A strange week this week - lots of background and admin stuff sorted and dealt with, lots of parts ordering and chasing and taking up an ridiculously large amount of time.

So now it's doors down and crack on - wiring faults to find, a clutch to change, radiator bleeding to perform and hopefully the correct flywheel to grab and whatever
else gets squeezed in .

Next Saturday is time to chill and grab a coffee when we have the first gathering at the new premises to celebrate a year here. Man that's flown by!

Today is retro Monday, as we don't work Mondays. We're in, the admin is sorted, and we're cracking on. A modern car MOT work first, get it out the way, then some of the bits we enjoy, oldskool. Hoping for a few heading home this week, watch this space !

So as well as making some progress and moving forward, we're also waiting on deliveries, have some minor setbacks and a mystery missing parcel.

What has caused this week's issues - I'll make a statement that the mechanicaly oriented of us will understand.

On Tuesday I did a front spring on a 2018 Octavia, on the mk5 golf platform . And all 3 of the strut top mount bolts came out easily and without any issue.

This has cursed the rest of the week.

Well let's try again seeing as I've just deleted thus post once rather than posting it. Here goes. . . .

So far this week, we've made progress on 4 long-term VW projects which are all nearing completion, sorted some big issues on a 50s Austin gearbox, rekindled a deep seated hatred of rangerovers, and a love of fish finger sarnies, I've got 53 year old rust in my eye, and Paul's here doing some welding and is sick of burning himself. Not even the end of thursday yet, loads of time for more shenanigans!

Suns out, music is LOUD, coffee is hot, LETS FU**IN GOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Now that I'm in a better frame of mind, once I've caught myself up a bit in the next couple of weeks and there's hopefully some sunshine to enjoy one weekend - who fancies a meet at the NEW (ok year old ) retro world HQ?

Some good news this week means I'm not having to find more affordable premises, the planets have aligned and I've had a breakthrough making things manageable to stay at the longlands.

This wasn't common n knowledge as I needed to make 100% before any announcements but some folk don't know when they're told things in confidence, creating added stress and friction. It's taken a lot of sorting and a lot of time dedicated to securing the future, but for now it's done.

No time to relax tho, there jobs to finish, cars to fettle, and parts to find. But now at least I can get back to what I enjoy, getting hacky!

Happy wednesday petrol heads, summer is almost here.

STILL looking for an appropriate flywheel - i need a single mass flywheel out of an early PD engined, 5 speed golf or polo - single mass, 5 speed, pd motor. Someone somewhere must have one ?

That's 8 incorrect I've been to collect or had posted now, mainly getting 6 speed dual mass and that's not what i need. A single mass 5 speed. Anyone?
