Most people overthink it. The size you need is printed on the sidewall of the tyre you're already fitted with, something like 205/55 R16.

Ring that number through to us and we'll come straight back with a price. No callbacks. No "let me check with the manager." No hard sell!

When the final whistle blows, we're still on the road.

Saturday night on the motorway. A minibus full of Middlesbrough fans heading home from Wembley after the play-off final. The result hadn't gone their way, and then, to make matters worse... their minibus broke down.

That's where Fast Lane comes in.

Our recovery team responded quickly, got the fans safely off the motorway, and made sure they got home. Disappointed, yes. Stranded? Not on our watch!

Regularly checking tread depth is crucial because driving with worn tyres is dangerous and illegal.

Without enough tread, tyres may not be able to grip the road properly, especially in wet conditions. The grooves help to remove water from between the tyre and the road, allowing your car to brake, steer, and accelerate safely.

How to manually measure tyre tread depth:

The easiest way to check that your car tyre tread is above the minimum legal standard is to complete the 20p test by inserting a 20p into the tread grooves on the tyre.

If you can’t see the coin’s outer band, your tyres are above the legal limit.

Then it's time to call FAST LANE.

A call came in this morning from a driver who'd come out to a flat on the drive. School run looming, no spare in the boot, no time to limp it to a workshop.

Forty minutes later our van was on their driveway. New tyre fitted, old one disposed of, customer on the road before the second coffee had gone cold!

That's the bit people sometimes don't realise about mobile tyre fitting — it isn't just for the hard shoulder at 2am. It's also for the Tuesday morning when life has already started without you and a flat tyre wasn't on the agenda.
