🔧 BMW F30 320d | Timing Chain & Oil Leak Repair

This 320d came in with a noisy timing chain and excessive oil leaks. Here’s what we found and fixed:

✅ Timing chains replaced with a genuine BMW chain kit
✅ Oil leaks traced to the rocker cover breather unit and oil filter housing gaskets, so we fitted a new rocker cover and new oil filter housing gaskets
✅ While in there, we found the DPF flexi had completely collapsed. We removed it and welded in a new flexi

Fault memory check pointed to a low charge pressure issue. Further diagnosis confirmed it: the turbo had given up at 210k miles.
New turbo fitted, and the customer is back on the road. ✅
See the oil residue around the compressor housing? That’s a worn turbo passing oil. If your BMW is down on power, throwing a drivetrain warning, or you’ve noticed smoke or oil in the intake, get it checked before it gets worse.

Customer came to us with a BMW X5 that felt loose and unstable at the rear, with handling that just wasn’t inspiring confidence. 😬

After a full road test and inspection, we found the rear bushes had completely failed, offering little to no stability. 🔧

The fix: we fitted a full set of polyurethane bushes and wheel alignment, restoring that tight, planted feel the car should have. 💪

If your BMW feels vague, floaty or unsettled at the back end, don’t ignore it. Worn bushes are a common culprit and can affect handling and tyre wear, as well as safety.
