The low lying nature and shape of the Lake means that there is plenty of shelter - even on windy days. In the Large fishery cabin, washroom facillities, wood burning stove, barbeque and microwave are available, additionally a catering van is present selling a variety of hot food. Historically the Lake has much to offer, with the impressive and peacefull ruins of the 13th century Inchmahome Priory on the largest of the Lake's three islands. On night 7 of the Menteith Boat league sponsored by Fario Flies. 11 anglers went out and caught 30 fish. Donny Macbeth was top rod with 7 fish, in 2nd place was Bill Ramage with 5 fish and in 3rd place was Grant Sutherland with 4 fish. Productive methods on the night were stripping bo***es and fabs on the surface in the cages.
Donny Wins the Fario fly box with some flies and Bill wins the voucher for a free nights fishing in the boat league.

Best areas currently Gateside Bay, Burn Mouth and Reedy Point. Foam Daddy or b***y on a floater did well today with one individual netting 22 using that technique. Kevin McCabe with a nice brownie yesterday (buzzers were working), Kenny Hope demonstrating that small is beautiful and thanks to Stevie Breivik for the Shetland treats. SANACC Scottish Club Championship
Heat 6 – 13th June 2026

Sponsored by The Lake of Menteith, Snowbee, Glencairn Crystal, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Angus Angling, McLanachan Transport Ltd and My Fishing Flies.

The 27 anglers landed a total of 85 fish for 184lbs 15.7ozs.

Top club on the night was Harelaw FF “A” represented by Andy Gray, (5 fish), Shug Shaw, (6 fish) and Cameron Kelly, (9 fish) giving a total of 20 fish for 41lbs 8.0ozs. The team received vouchers for £30 for My Fishing Flies and a £30 voucher for Lake of Menteith.

2nd place went to Lochend FF “A” represented by Andy Boylan, (11 fish), Kevin Malcolm, (4 fish) and Kenny Dickens, (3 fish) giving a total of 18 fish for 39lbs 0.7ozs.

3rd place team were West Linton AC “B” represented by Jamie McLeary, (9 fish), Mikey Burke, (6 fish) and Eck Moffat, (1 fish) giving a team total of 16 fish for 34lbs 6.5ozs.

4th placed team were Select FF “A” represented by Brian Fletcher (3 fish), Stuart Lindsay, (4 fish) and David Wales, (3 fish) giving a total of 10 fish for 22lbs 0.5ozs.

These clubs qualify for the semi-final on 14th August.

The top six individuals qualified for the Champion of Champions final, namely:

1. Andy Boylan of Lochend FF “A” with 11 fish for 22lbs 13.2ozs
2. Jamie McLeary of West Linton AC “B” with 9 fish for 18lbs 14.9ozs
3. Cameron Kelly of Harelaw FF “A” with 9 fish for 18lbs 11.5ozs
4. Mikey Burke of West Linton AC “B” with 6 fish for 13lbs 10.9ozs
5. Shug Shaw of Harelaw FF “A” with 6 fish for 12lbs 5.8ozs
6. Andy Gray of Harelaw FF “A” with 5 fish for 10lbs 6.7ozs.

Heaviest fish on the night was landed by Kenny Dickens of Lochend FF “A” which weighed in at 4lbs 0.3ozs.

On Night six of the Menteith Boat league sponsored by Fario Flies 14 went out and caught 36 fish. Ken Oliver was top rod with 5 fish beating Stewart Inglis into second due to catching his first fish earlier 3rd was Ali McGilvery with 4 fish. With some of the guys fishing a comp today tactics are a bit scarce to get.
Ken Wins the Fario fly box with some flies and Stewart wins the voucher.
Ali is starting to pull out a lead in the league with Raymond in second.
