Hi, my name is Gareth Marchant and I operate an independent driving school where lessons are focused on your needs, utilising modern coaching methods to guide you to become a safe, responsible and independent driver, and pass your test as part of that process. You are unique, so I have to ensure that your lessons are unique to you - your learning style, your sense of humour, your skill development
needs. By matching the level and delivery of lessons to you, you will receive a truly interactive, fun and rewarding learning experience resulting in the success that you seek. Lesson durations can be adjusted to suit you - 1, 1.5 or 2 hours (or longer if you wish!). I have experience of successfully teaching pupils with dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, auditory processing difficulties and mental health issues. None of these difficulties have prevented a driving test pass, it just takes a little time to develop a mutual approach to understanding the difficulties that may exist for driving, and identifying coping strategies and techniques that work for the individual. You will receive lesson handouts to refresh subjects covered in car, and I also provide theory test assistance in the form of in car training, mock test papers and free access to online e-learning modules and theory questions. I am committed to Continuing Professional Development, and in my role as Secretary of the Driving Instructors Scottish Council and Vice Chairman of the Forth Valley Driving Instructors Association I regularly organise and attend training courses and development meetings, and keep fully up to date with and involved in the latest developments in driver education. I am also a member of various other organisations linked to driver training. I am a keen runner, and in May 2012 I completed my first marathon in Edinburgh - so I understand how much effort is required to achieve something you really want to do! I also enjoy badminton and I'm a qualified motorcycle instructor and keen biker (although having a 7 year old son limits my mileage these days..).
