PBS Engineering Ltd PBS Automotive Engineering is focused on performance engines, motorsport preparation and restoration.

We carry out specialist engineering work on all types of high performance engines and are able to undertake all forms of motorsport preparation on any make of car, we specialise in Ford and the more unusual kitcars. Services include engine building, specialising in Ford zvh engine and zetec turbo engine building as well as the Ford crossflow 'kent' engine. At PBS Engineering each engine is hand as

sembled in our engine build workshops with the utmost care and attention to detail. Every engine build uses the highest quality components ensuring the highest reliability and performance of an engine. In house facilities allow us to fabricate parts from simple brackets to full chassis preparation including shell seam welding and race car preparation, also full restoration work is undertaken. All forms of motorsport preparation including fabrication, chassis modifications, suspension enhancement and brake upgrades. At our kilmarnock workshop we can provide a wide range of specialist engineering services including welding of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium in MIG and TIG. All types of fabrication work undertaken for projects of any nature.

… just made some reinforcement bars for the front of the series2 so it can go in the roll-over-jig for when it’s turn for restoration comes around, having had to cut out quite a substantial portion of the inner wings to get the focus ST225 5-pot shoehorned into the bay, I wanted to get some strength back in before it’s hung on the rotisserie 😁 might sheet metal the gearbox side in eventually but the crank pulley end will be left open to aid maintenance - hopefully the arch lines can be modified to fit back in once it is finished 🤔🙂

a bit of a . . . finally standing back and seeing the focus st225 engine sitting on its own mounts in the series 2’s engine bay is a major milestone 😊.

A custom made o/s engine mount, a flipped and reversed st170 gearbox mount welded to the n/s inner wing and a GGR / vibrotecnics torque bar mounted to the underside of the passenger footwell.

It’s been great to blow the dust off the ol’ red express but it’ll be getting stuck back in the corner of the workshop for the foreseeable future ☺️

- fabricated engine mount for the focus st225 5-pot engine in the es**rt RS Turbo . . . we needed something compact and strong to replace the bulky oem mount . . lathe’d up some steel pillars from 32mm round bar and custom made the mount from 3mm plate so it should be plenty strong 😉.

… mixing up some an6 braided line with 1/4” bsp and 1/4” npt adapters on either end 🤪 made easy by having all the fittings and braided line available and delivered very quickly … replacing some perished rubber hoses that have unfortunately not been able to stand up to the new fuels.
