Why car repairs have gone up in price in the past few years?

Please, do not blame your mechanic for being greedy....

Brexit is a key factor, not just because of the additional duties levied on parts imported from mainland Europe but also because of increased labour costs caused by driver shortages in the supply chain.

The cost of living, Covid, Brexit, carbon reduction targets, inflation, are all factors that are causing prices everywhere to increase, unfortunately.
Operational costs have increased due to fuel and energy costs shooting up, and as a result parts prices have been pushed up.

The running cost of an average size garage ( 2-4 vehicle lift) in Uk, has changed tremendously. For Kubik Auto Care, for example, our daily running cost has doubled since 2021, and the average monthly bill to parts suppliers has increased by 1.8 times on the same level of purchase.

Even though, many mechanics are still charging the same hourly labour, your bills are, however, higher, to compare with previous years.
