LEXUS GS in for MOT & Oil and filter change.

MOT: FAIL ❌️

Stripped, cleaned and adjusted internal drum handbrake mechanism.

MOT: PASS ✅️ (no advisories 😎👌🏼)

Oil and filter changed - should be good for another 5 years / 140k miles before its next one 🤣

MG ZS in for Major Service.

No issues found during the service, but pollen / cabin filter was full of dirt and debris.

Peugeot 207 in for front pads and discs.

Customer was advised the vehicle needed brakes by another garage, as can be seen, the pads have loads of life left in them, and the discs still above the minimum thickness.

Advised customer the brakes did not need replacing, however the exhaust had failed at the flexi, so whilst the vehicle was in, was able to replace this.

Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost in for MOT & Service.

All vehicles with wet belts, the oil is drained through a thin micron strainer to capture any belt particles.

Vehicle also showing high moisture content in the brake fluid.

Coolant level was also below minimum, no visual coolant leaks, but advised customer to monitor.

Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCI in for Intermediate service (Oil and Pollen filters)

If you suffer badly from hay-fever, its always worth getting the pollen filter changed, or at the very least inspected and blown out, as you can see the condition of the filter 😳😳 that's what you are breathing in.

Alloy Wheel Cleaners -

We have 3x different wheel cleaners tried and tested and passing the information on to the customer.

Previously Lidl had several car cleaning products in the infamous middle isle.

These were.

Parkside 500ml (Lidls own brand) £3.99 (£7.98 per litre)
Wonder Wheels 600ml £4.99 (£8.32 per litre)
Demon Wheels 1L £4.99 (£4.99 per litre)

So that is the quantity and costs, how about performance, this had mixed results, for me the standout performer was the Parkside variant, with the most visual improvement soak and rinse, Wonder Wheels was then, what I would say / class as the next best, although it wasn't really great, Demon wheels was the 3rd place.

From the images you can see the 3 stages of the wheel cleaning process - to add aswell, no agitation was done on the wheels, this was just purely spray and rinse.
