You must be fully knowledgeable and highly competent at fitting retail tyres within a fast fit environment. Applicants must have a flexible and positive approach to their work, be able to use their own initiative and work to a good standard. Good time management, reliability, communication and team working skills are essential for this role as is a full drivers’ licence .
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08.30am - 5.30pm
No Bank holidays.
Uniform provided.

We are friendly Independent Fast Fit Garage in the Portslade area and currently looking to recruit a MOT Tester, Class 4 & 7 (class 5 would be an advantage but not essential) to join our great team.

You will be responsible for carrying out MOT inspections and must be an approved MOT Tester with DVSA, with a full UK driving license

Applicants should have excellent time management and a flexible and positive approach to work.

To all of our valued customers old and new we are pleased to let you all know that we are now back to work and fully operational whilst practicing safe working.
In the interest of your health, measures have been taken onsite to ensure our customers remain safe when visiting us and if you are shielded we can, with prior arrangements come and collect and drop your car back to you.
Our hours of opening are 08.30 am: to 5.30 pm: Monday to Friday, for all Tyre, brakes, exhaust, clutches and other mechanical work, servicing and MOTS and welding.

STILL OPEN IF YOU NEED US

We are now re - open if you need us, and here to help you keep your vehicle safely on the road.
As usual we offer same day tyre fitting (subject to availability) puncture repairs and wheel alignment. We are also taking bookings for MOTs' Class 4,5 &7 , Servicing, Brakes, Exhausts, Aircon re gassing and some repairs,

We are still operating a reduced service to ensure that social distancing measures are observed for those who are working and our customers.

Gloves are worn at all times and changed between vehicles and disposable seat and floor covers used

We are happy to come and collect your vehicle and drop it back to you , leaving sanitised keys in a plastic bag in a safe place that you have designated.

We thank you all for your patience whilst we have put these measures in place .

We are now re open for business practising safe working and operating a reduced service to ensure social distancing . We are prioritising the vehicles of NHS staff , essential workers and people with dependants

We are taking serious precautions to ensure that social distancing measures are observed for those who are working and our customers.

This includes:

Adhering to the 2m policy. Our reception waiting area is closed off but the service desk is open with a one in and one out policy.

MOT 6 MONTH EXTENSION ANNOUNCED TODAY ...if your MOT runs our after the 31st of March . This is a positive step in the retail sector as the government has shut down its own commercial MOT testing stations because of the risks associated, but allowed garages to remain open.
We made the decision to implement the three week shut down for the health and safety our staff and customers and to play part in reducing the risk of spread of infection... our people are more important than profit and need to be home supporting their families at this time .
It is near on impossible to completely sanitize every vehicle before and after testing or working on it therefore this poses a massive health risk .

To all of our lovely customers,

We have made the sad decision to close the garage from today, Tuesday 24th March temporarily until further notice. We feel a moral duty to our staff and customers in not helping this virus spread and feel that bringing over 60 vehicles a day and customers into our reception and workshop would be reckless.

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank all of our great team who continue to be incredibly supportive of Tyre Express ( Hove) Ltd and we would also like to let customers know that we do appreciate their loyal support and look forward to seeing you all again soon .
