Bmw X5 E70 today for new Anti Roll Bar D Bushes. Normally the whole bar has to be replaced as the bushes are moulded directly onto it. Luckily Polybush make a kit which allows you to just replace the bushes. Subframe has to be dropped while engine is supported. Old bushes cut off, bar cleaned to remove and residue. Then new purple compound bushes fitted

🔧 Oil Leak Investigation & Repair – Done Properly 🔧

This Citroën Berlingo 1.6 BlueHDi 8V arrived with a persistent oil leak after being diagnosed elsewhere as requiring sump repairs.

After carrying out a thorough inspection, we found the sump wasn't leaking at all. The actual cause was a warped and leaking rocker cover.

While carrying out the repair, we also discovered:
❌ Missing bolts
❌ Bolts fitted in incorrect locations
❌ A badly fitted boost pipe seal

All issues were rectified, the rocker cover was replaced, and every component was reassembled using the correct manufacturer procedures and torque specifications.

Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TDI – Timing Belt & Fault Diagnosis Completed 🔧

This Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TDI came into the workshop for a timing belt kit and water pump replacement, along with an ongoing fault that another garage had been unable to resolve.

✅ Genuine timing belt kit fitted
✅ Genuine water pump installed
✅ Genuine timing tools used throughout the job

The customer had already spent money replacing both auxiliary water pumps at another garage, but the fault was still present.

After carrying out a thorough diagnostic investigation, we traced the issue to a wiring harness that had been rubbing through and causing an intermittent electrical fault. Once the damaged wiring was located and repaired, the fault was completely rectified.

This is a perfect example of why accurate diagnostics are so important. Replacing parts without identifying the root cause can become expensive very quickly.

Another “freshly serviced” and “multi-point inspected” vehicle in the workshop this week… 👀
This car was bought from a dealer just ONE week ago, complete with a fresh service, new MOT, and supposedly a full inspection. Unfortunately, the inspection clearly wasn’t up to standard.
Here’s what we found:
🔧 Nearside brake caliper anti-rattle spring incorrectly fitted
🔧 Brake pad wear sensor installed upside down
🔧 Front shock absorber leaking
🔧 Nearside lower arm bush cracked, leaking, and with excessive movement
🔧 Offside lower arm bush split, cracked, and excessively worn
🔧 Rocker cover leaking
🔧 Split breather pipe leaking oil
🔧 Steering universal joint heat shield missing
🔧 And to top it off… a spanner left behind 😳

Volkswagon Caddy 1.6 tdi in today, slight oil leak. Found to be the valve/ rocker cover. These warp over time. We also found 1 injector seal to be leaking, this will have also been adding exhaust gasses to the cover making it leak more at high rpm and driving speeds
