🎉 ANOTHER FIRST-TIME PASS! 🎉

Massive congratulations to Angad, who passed his practical driving test at the Southport test centre first time! 🚙 ✅

He picked up a couple of minor faults right near the end, just from being extra careful. Honestly, I get it completely. When you're that close to the finish line, nobody wants to be the reason for another few weeks of waiting for the next test. Slowing down and playing it safe in that moment is exactly what a sensible driver does.

What really stood out was how well he kept his nerve and stayed in control of the car when it mattered most. That's the real difference between someone who's just memorised the manoeuvres and someone who's actually ready for the road. The result speaks for itself.

Huge well done Angad, drive safe out there! 🙌

🎉 Congratulations Sarah on a FIRST-TIME PASS! 🎉

Sarah has just passed her practical driving test first time, with only 4 driving faults! 🚙 👏

A fantastic result and a great reflection of the work she put into her lessons.

Interestingly, one of the faults came from a “Tell Me” question, something that can be easily overlooked when preparing for the test.

Take fog lights as an example. The Highway Code says that visibility is seriously reduced when you cannot see for more than 100 metres. But it doesn’t actually give you a practical reference for what 100 metres looks like.

Most people probably couldn’t confidently judge 100 metres just by looking at a road. 😄

Being able to estimate distances accurately is a practical skill that takes experience. It’s also something I teach through my other business, , where distance estimation is an important part of developing shooting skills.

So, Sarah, 4 faults and a first-time pass! Absolutely brilliant. 👏🥳

🎉 Dhruv PASSED his driving test! 🚙💨

A massive congratulations to Dhruv, who came all the way from Liverpool to Southport to work with me and prepare properly for his driving test.

After unfortunately failing his first test, Dhruv decided that what he needed wasn’t simply a list of instructions from an instructor, but proper coaching understanding the reasons behind decisions, developing awareness, judgement and confidence behind the wheel.

And today, it paid off! 💪

✅ Just 3 driving faults an absolutely brilliant result! 👏

🎉 Another FIRST-TIME PASS! 🎉

Huge congratulations to James on passing his driving test! 🚙💨👏

And this one is extra special… James is the third member of his family to pass their driving test with me and Shift Happens Driving School! 🥳

A brilliant achievement and a great result. The examiner had just one minor observation throughout the test everything else was driven to a really high standard. 💪👍

🚙 DRIVING TIP: Reversing

When doing a reversing manoeuvre after stopping on the right-hand side of the road, don’t forget about effective and frequent observation.

Before moving, make sure you’re checking properly for:
👀 Traffic approaching from both directions

🚶 Pedestrians
🚙 Parked or emerging vehicles
🔄 What’s happening around the car as you reverse

Don’t just check once and then reverse keep observing throughout the manoeuvre. Your surroundings can change quickly!

That was the only thing James needed to improve on today the rest of the drive was pretty much spot on! 👌

🎉 SHE DID IT! CONGRATULATIONS, ISABEL! 🚙💨

They say “Shift Happens”… and in Isabel’s case, it really did! 😄

After a few unsuccessful driving tests, Isabel decided it was time for a fresh approach. We went back to basics, worked on confidence, polished the small details, and focused on driving safely rather than just passing a test.

The result?

✅ PASS!
With only 4 driving faults an excellent achievement, especially after a few previous disappointments. That proves one thing: a few setbacks don’t define you. The right coaching, the right mindset, and a bit of determination can make all the difference.

I’m incredibly proud of the hard work Isabel put in. She trusted the process, stayed positive, and earned this result.

🎉 BIG NEWS from Southport! 🎉

Massive congratulations to Aneta officially a FULLY QUALIFIED DRIVER after passing her practical test today! 🚗💨

She drove away with just 3 minors on the sheet, and two of them were down to “undue hesitation” the classic case of being TOO polite at junctions! 😅

My official prescription for that one? When it’s clearly safe… commit and GO. No more waiting for the road to personally invite you in. 😂

Massive congratulations to Vitali, who passed his driving test today in Southport... with an absolutely FLAWLESS drive zero faults! 👏🚗

Vitali's journey wasn't always smooth. Like so many learners, he had setbacks along the way and there were moments he could easily have thrown in the towel. But he didn't. He kept showing up, kept practising, kept believing and today it paid off in the best way possible: a perfect test.

This is exactly why we always say a fail isn't the end of the story, it's just part of it. Every lesson, every mistake, every "not quite yet" is building towards a moment like this one.

⏰ Yes! My cancellation policy is 48 hours. And yes, I mean it.

Here's why: the second you book, that slot is yours. Car's ready, route's planned, fuel's in the tank. When someone cancels last minute (or just doesn't show up 👀), it's a lesson another learner on the waiting list could've had.

So here's the deal: give me 48 hours notice and we'll happily find you a new time, no stress at all. Less than that, or a no-show? The lesson still counts.

Fair for you, fair for me, fair for everyone waiting for their turn behind the wheel. 🚗💛

💡 Driving Tip:

Remember that your indicators are there to communicate with other road users. When there are pedestrians, cyclists or other vehicles nearby, make sure you signal in good time so everyone understands what you’re planning to do before you make your move. Good communication on the road helps prevent confusion and keeps everyone safer.
