Vauxhall grandland in today for a cambelt/ wet belt change. I think we changed this one just in time as you can see the belt was very close to breaking. Vehicle was 6 years old and had done 47k miles so something to take note of that these Peugeot built 3 cylinder engines need the cambelt changed at the correct interval or sooner. You can also see it blocks the oil strainer with debris from the old belt causing low oil pressure. One very lucky customer!

We’ve had another busy week at A & P this week. Had a tricky fault with a 2009 vw golf 1.6tdi that was hard to start first thing in the morning. We carried out a diagnostic check with our advanced Bosch KTS diagnostics system but no faults were registered, fuel pressure was good and all sensors were reading as they should so we didn’t have much to go on. It took our 40+ years of experience of working with VAG group cars to find a flap on the EGR valve was sticking not letting fresh air into the engine and suffocating itself on initial start up. Carbon deposits had sieges the valve so a new OE quality EGR valve was fitted and the customer was pleased to get her back and not have to worry if she was going to make it to work each morning now.
