I’ve always been entertained by the “New Capri” story. It’s done the rounds so many times in the magazines, even some of the more gruesome Photoshopped jobs seen online get taken seriously. Certainly, if you have the Secret Fords books then you’ll know how many times Ford tried to replace the old coupe, but Volume 2 stops with the 2001 Focus RS. There’s a hint at the back that if I ever do Volume 3, then I’ll cover the early-2000s Capri, S272. But that book is many years away, but as of today you don’t have to wait!….

There is a good chance you will have seen Big Car’s videos on YouTube. Mr Car, aka Andy Haslam, does an incredible job picking over the history of many cars and automotive brands. A few months ago, we teamed up to do a two-part video on the history of the RS brand, which you can see here.
