š§ FROM A DOUBLE GARAGE TO SOUTHCOAST AUTOMOTIVE š§
People often see the workshop, the ramps, the equipment and the teamābut they donāt always see what it took to get here.
Southcoast Automotive Services didnāt begin in a large, fully equipped workshop.
It started in a double garage at my dadās house.
There were setbacks along the way. I moved into a unit that didnāt work out, ended up back working from my mum and stepdadās garden and had to keep finding ways to move forward.
I learned new skills, including welding while working on cars such as the old Ford Ka. I later shared a unit with my friend Steve while also working at Dominoās to make sure the rent was paid.
After that came my own unitāwhich was extremely dampāfollowed by a move two doors up where I could finally fit two ramps. The workload grew, staff joined the business and slowly Southcoast began becoming the garage I had pictured from the beginning.
Today, we operate from a former dealership workshop in Wi******er, with our own MOT bay, specialist diagnostic equipment, DPF-cleaning facilities and a growing team carrying out everything from servicing and repairs to complex diagnostics and wet-belt replacements.
There have been plenty of difficult days, long hours and lessons along the way, but Iām proud of how far the business has come.
Over the next few weeks, Iām going to share more of the storyāfrom that first double garage to the workshop we have today.
This is only the beginning.
