The yellow car appears to be beyond the stop line and sitting in the junction area while the traffic lights facing it are red.
From a still photo we cannot say for certain what happened, but one possibility is that the driver entered on a green light expecting traffic ahead to move, then became trapped when it didn’t.
The lights changed and they were left blocking the junction.
It is a good example of why we teach:
⚠️ Do not enter a junction unless your exit is clear.
Too many drivers focus on the green light and forget to look beyond it.
A green light gives permission to proceed if safe to do so, but it does not guarantee space on the other side.
🚦 GREEN DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN GO
The driver ahead may have entered on a green light.
The problem is they were looking at the traffic light, not the road beyond it.
If your exit isn’t clear, think carefully before entering. Otherwise you can end up stranded in the junction, blocking other traffic when the lights change.
Good driving is about planning ahead, not just reacting to the colour of a light.
How many times do you see this happen every day? 👀
(Interestingly the comments on the original post were that there was no crime committed - is that how we're going to benchmark decent driving? The fact it is inconsiderate and prevents effective use of a road system built to create ease of flow is immaterial? 🤷♀️)
