Click Driving School Automatic transmission driving lessons I started training as a driving instructor in 2020 having been a primary school teacher for over 20yrs.

I worked for Lendrums Driving School for 2yrs before opening “Click Driving School” in January 2024. I gained my DVSA approved instructor licence in October 2022. During my time as an instructor I have attended a number of professional training courses and am a Certified and Accredited “Driving Nerves Specialist”

What a kind and wonderful review from lovely Emily. I know she has already been on lots of journeys and is no doubt impressing her passengers as she goes.

We had a blast on lessons and I miss them already. I've never been described as "unorthodox" but I will take it ..I'd call it "thinking outside the box" and treating pupils as individuals 🙏🙏🙏 Happy to fit that label!

For clarity, when Emily says "never took me out of my comfort zone", it was never just playing it easy, it just wasn't beyond her capabilities so that she couldn't cope...she was thriving not just surviving which is how driving lessons should be đź‘Ť

Badge renewed...I have grown so much.

At the beginning I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. There was so much "mind noise" as to how I was supposed to be doing things.... but... pupils are people, and they don't just fit into the shaped box some expect them to fit into. And funnily neither do instructors 🤷‍♀️ One shape / size does not fit all..

And as soon as I was ok with that, the mind noise got quieter.

Am I a perfect instructor? No. Am I on a learning journey with my pupils every day? Hell yeah!

Outer lane hogging is not acceptable. Some drivers will do it because they believe their tyres will get more damaged in lane 1, because they're getting in the lane they need for the direction they're going in 6 / 10 / 20 miles, or "I pay to use the roads so I can use whichever lane I want"...all irrational, unhelpful and have a negative impact on others using the motorway 🤷‍♀️

My pupil Rosie told me that she wanted to apply her current skills consistently in her driving. I tasked her with jotting down what her “current skills” were. She went away and did her homework, did a RAG assessment which then set the areas she felt she needed to work on…

loved her commitment to the task… learning to drive is not just driving a car, it’s observing, planning, self evaluation, studying… it’s an educational course, not to be undertaken lightly

A super positive week last week which concluded with 3 of my learners having an observer sat in the back of their lessons. A positive experience for everyone, but predominantly for our guest who had been considering becoming a driving instructor. He went away super motivated and will hopefully start his training journey v soon

The dominance of tech is resulting in some people losing their basic communication skills and awareness of boundaries.
