The Beetle suspension and brake overhaul is in full swing! Front and rear are now fully stripped, with new steering joints and ball joints fitted. The front brake assembly has been rebuilt, and the rear brakes are now disassembled and ready for their overhaul.

Just waiting for the larger pieces of the puzzle to arrive from , then we can get this Beetle sitting how it should - lower to the ground!

Plenty more of the rebuild to come, but for now, here’s a look at the teardown.

Bodywork on the T3 Doka is nearing the all-important colour stage! High build is on, the doors are back in place, and we’re on with the final blocking to get everything absolutely spot on for the final colour!

Highlights from a busy August - a bit of everything this month with bodywork, metalwork, repairs, fabrication and engine builds. Plenty going on in the workshop, with a few projects coming together and plenty more still underway.

We have the pleasure of helping get his VW Beetle mechanically ready for his big day! First up, a new front beam and some work on the rear to get the stance sitting just right. Once that’s sorted, we’ll move on to getting this beauty fully turn-key ready. It needs to stop and go like a wedding car… quite literally, because that’s exactly what it’s going to be!

The Syncro Tipper Doka is having some minor cosmetic work done to keep on top of the bodywork. It’s better to fix a small problem now rather than let it turn into a major job later.

The Canadian Westfalia is well underway. You can’t just fit Fox shocks and GoWesty springs without replacing the 30+ year-old suspension bushes. And you can’t just fit standard replacements either, you’ve got to upgrade them to cope with all that extra travel. For those with keen eyes, yes, that is a 2WD Fox suspension kit. It’s going to be one dreamy drive.

Well, last week we finished putting the engine back into this Westfalia after the main seals and oil cooler were replaced keeping the cooling juice in the engine. So, we’re going to time the engine and finish off the job this week, getting another van back to its owner for more beach trips!

When your holiday goes a bit south due to breakdowns, and also quite literally south to sunny Devon (well, more like rainy Devon). This unfortunate couple were misinformed and turned away, but in no time we had the this awesome Canadian T3 Westy in the workshop. CV’s serviced and rear wheel bearing / hub replaced before tackling the 2.1 running issue. With all our years of experience and knowledge the issue was found and resolved. No more irratic idle and running issue.

We try to keep the workshop rota flexible to ensure we can help out when we can. Being in a holiday destination we see an influx of buses during holiday periods, and some need help to reach their destination.

Look at this old-school RTTS weapon! The shaved gutters and Corrado wing mirrors are such an epic touch. Our posts are heavily influenced by the team, who all have a huge range of opinions and styles, but one thing we can all agree on is that we just LOVE these vans, whatever the style!

We know some people might question us washing the van saying “just wash the glass!” but sometimes you’ve got to see the wood through the trees. It’s all about appreciating the whole van and the passion that goes into creating something this cool.
