๐ British Kart Championship โ Rotax | Round 4 | Whilton Mill
An extremely tough weekend result-wise for me & Dad, but we still had a fantastic time and, if anything, weโre more determined than ever to get on top of the issues we had and keep pushing our way further up the field. ๐ช
Qualifying: โ No time set
I didnโt get off the grid quickly enough and ended up stuck behind everyone going slow trying to roll over to gain track position. As a consequence, the engine oiled up and cut out, meaning no qualifying time.
Heat 1: P25 โก๏ธ P21 on track
A solid drive to make up a few places, but unfortunately I was DSQโd for coming into Parc Fermรฉ with a detached rear bumper โ something we didnโt realise had happened at the time. ๐ฉ
Really frustrating, as without the DSQ we would have been promoted to around P18/P17.
Heat 2: P26 โก๏ธ P22 โก๏ธ P26
Managed to gain a few places in the opening laps after incidents ahead put some faster drivers behind me. I fought hard to hold them off, but unfortunately couldnโt fend them off over the final couple of laps.
Super Heat: P20 โก๏ธ P15 โก๏ธ P20 on track, P19 after penalties
Kept it clean from the start and managed to hang onto the back of the pack. Once again, we gained around 5โ6 places through incidents ahead and I was feeling really good about a strong finish.
Then, with just 3 laps to go, the kart suddenly lost power and I had to pit with a fuel issue. ๐ฉ
Not the weekend we wanted on the results sheet, but there were definitely positives to take from it. Weโre learning, weโre finding the problems and, most importantly, weโre not giving up.
A massive thank you to everyone who continues to support me and Dad on this journey. โค๏ธ
Back to work now. Time to get this kart sorted and come back stronger. ๐ง๐ช๐
