"It’s important that all mirrors should be used effectively throughout your journey.

You should use your mirrors frequently so that you always know what is behind and to each side of you" 👍

Rule 161, like the rest of the Highway Code, is essential reading for all road users. Read all the rules online, for free, here: http://ow.ly/mnfP50LKTGW

Road Safety Week is Brake, the road safety charity's biggest road safety campaign. The theme of Road Safety Week 2022 is ‘Safe Roads for All’. Today, the area we're highlighting is safe vehicles and speeds.

Highway Code Rule 125: "The speed limit is the absolute maximum and does not mean it is safe to drive at that speed irrespective of conditions.

Unsafe speed increases the chances of causing a collision (or being unable to avoid one), as well as its severity. Inappropriate speeds are also intimidating, deterring people from walking, cycling or riding horses.

Driving at speeds too fast for the road and traffic conditions is dangerous."

🚫 You must not drive faster than the speed limit for the type of road and your type of vehicle.

The speed limit is the absolute maximum - it doesn’t mean it’s safe to drive at this speed in all conditions.
