Fresh Service & A Showroom Shine for this Audi A3! ✨

We had this tidy 2019 Audi A3 - 30 TFSI in the workshop today for some essential maintenance. We carried out a basic Oil & Cabin Filter service and performed a comprehensive check on all fluid levels to keep it running smoothly.

As with all our services, we don't just swap the parts we take pride in the presentation. We finished up with a full engine bay wipe-down, leaving it looking fresh, shiny, and ready for the road. 🧼🚗

⚠️ Official guidelines vs. Real World Reality on this VW Golf GTD!

We had this stunning 2017 VW Golf GTD (Engine Code: DGCA) in the workshop today for a critical Cambelt & Water Pump replacement.

Here is the scary part: The official factory interval for this belt is 140,000 miles. However, this car has only done 81,500 miles, and it was already showing two major warning signs that it was time to change:

1️⃣ Red Dust: The timing belt area was covered in "red dust" (swipe to see the photos). This is a classic sign of bearing wear or component fret. 2️⃣ Low Coolant: We noticed the coolant level in the expansion tank had dropped well below the minimum mark often an early indicator that the water pump is weeping or failing.

If this customer had ignored these signs and waited another 60,000 miles to hit the "official" guideline, the result could have been catastrophic engine failure.

Work carried out: ✅ Full Timing Belt Kit replacement ✅ Water Pump renewal ✅ Fresh Coolant & System Bleed

The Lesson: Don't just rely on the maximum mileage! Visual checks and fluid levels tell the real story.

Sparks flying on the Vivaro today! 💥

We’ve got this 2006 Vauxhall Vivaro on the ramp for some TLC. It’s a great workhorse for the customer, but its needed some attention.

Here’s what’s happening:
🔧We’re replacing both front lower ball joints. As you can see, we had to get the grinder out to remove the old rivets! The new ones are going in fresh (along with the tricky little ABS sensor brackets). 🛢️ Oil Leak Fix: The sump pan was leaking badly, so we’ve done a full engine flush, dropped the sump, and re-sealed it. We’re letting it cure overnight to guarantee a 100% leak-free seal before refilling.

Nothing beats seeing shiny new parts go on after the old rusted ones come off. This van will be driving tighter and cleaner by tomorrow morning!

Ever wondered what a "Wet Belt" issue actually looks like? 🚗🔧

We’ve currently got this 2021 Peugeot 208 in the workshop for a timing belt replacement. These engines use a "belt-in-oil" system. Over time, if the wrong oil is used or service intervals are missed, the belt starts to perish and crumble.

Swipe to see the problem! 👉 The black debris you see in the fifth photo is actually rubber from the belt. It has been sucked into the oil pickup strainer, which starves the engine of oil.

The result? Low oil pressure, potential turbo failure, and eventually, a seized engine.

If you own a Peugeot, Citroën, Vauxhall or Ford engine, don't ignore your belt intervals!
