Paul Goodman is raising money for the Royal Marines Charity!

He has set himself the challenge of living on the streets to raise awareness of the number of ex-military veterans who are homeless.

The RMA offers a range of assistance aimed at serving and former Royal Marines and their dependents. This includes mental health support, respite breaks, grants to help with financial difficulty and getting about inside and outside the home. This vital work would not be possible without fundraising such as this.

SOMETIMES IT ONLY TAKES ONE MEETING

A few months ago, someone walked into our Andys Man Club worried and anxious. Before he walked in, he mentioned to the facilitator outside that he was scared of walking in the door but acknowledged that he needed help.

He walked into the room and met another facilitator who helped him to the brew facilities and sat with him to discuss how the meetings ran.

On the first question (how has your week been), he didn’t say much.

On the second question (any positives of the week), he shared a little.

On the third question (anything to get off your chest), he started to cry. He began to share his story, and afterwards, he said that weight got lifted from his shoulders.

Since that first meeting, he has been at every meeting, and he is now a different person and has started to support other men.

So if you know someone struggling, either your friend, dad, brother, uncle, husband, partner or son, let them know about Andys Man Club because sometimes it only takes one meeting to realise that talking does help you get out of the storm.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support over this last year. If your travelling over the Christmas period, then have a safe journey. We are proud to have been able to donate £800 today. Simon & I wanted to help the Ukraine people and we decided back in mid March that we as a company would donate £5 for every service/mot book in with us till the end of April. When we heard that a few local people had formed this group to help the Ukraine people coming to the local area, we felt that our donation was best made locally. We hope our contribution will go a long way to helping them feel welcome and safe. Our thanks and support go to the people in the village involved in this group. My heart breaks watching the news and I can’t stop thinking of the families going through this horrendous situation in the Ukraine. How can we make a difference?
