Ford B Max clutch replacement due to a heavy clutch pedal and difficulty engaging gears.

3 piece Sachs clutch kit and an LuK clutch master cylinder to give this one a nice light pedal again.

40k miles / 5 years on this belt and this is how it looks.

This is why regular servicing is more important on modern vehicles, we recommend changing the oil every 6-10k miles / 12 months whichever comes first.

Had this Astra in for a coolant leak and a high pitched squeal with the engine running.

With the top timing cover removed, it was obvious that the customer had got really lucky as the timing belt was cracked, chunks of it missing and way too slack.

Turns out the water pump had seized solid!

New INA timing belt kit sourced from GSF Car Parts along with Bosch Aux belt and fresh coolant and it’s good to go!

Ford Kuga in for a full service.

Air, oil, pollen and fuel filters replaced with OEM quality Mann parts.

During the inspection we found:

⚠️ tyres on / close to the legal wear limit
⚠️ rear pads were worn and discs corroded.
⚠️ slight weep from O/S driveshaft seal
⚠️ auxiliary belt perished

The customer was informed of any issues before they become more serious and which need action sooner rather than later ✅

With the winter weather on the way, if you’re unsure about the condition of your tyres / brakes, you can call by the garage to have them checked, or book in for a winter check / service if you think your car has underlying issues.

Seat Ibiza in today with power steering failure.

No communication with the module and fuses / wiring all ok as well as getting power at the pump.

PAS module was replaced and coded in along with fresh fluid and the job turned round same day.

Another Peugeot 1.2 Puretech saved from the graveyard.

Another one recommended to us by another local garage. This one with just 52k miles on the clock and 5 years old. The belt was badly cracked and wouldn’t have lasted much longer.

If you’re unsure if your car has a wetbelt, give us a call and we will check and advise on whether it needs replacing as this can save your car from engine damage.

Last job of the week. This one was recovered to me by recommendation from another local garage.

Ford Kuga clutch pedal going to the floor. On closer inspection fluid was leaking front eh gearbox so the gearbox was removed to investigate and the concentric slave cylinder had left the chat 😆

LUK clutch and flywheel kit fitted along with new bolts and a rear main seal due to the original starting to leak.

One happy customer off to Scotland for the weekend!

🔧 Another major job completed at AutoTech Shrewsburyand another motor saved! 🔧

This Range Rover Evoque was suffering from an engine rattle, which was diagnosed by two different garages as a timing chain issue. However, not many garages will take the job on.

We confirmed the fault, quoted and got the go ahead to carry out the job on the ingenium 2.0 diesel engine - which are well known for timing chain related issues due to long service intervals and oil dilution resulting in premature component wear.

With the subframe, gearbox, clutch and flywheel removed, to assess the damage, the chains were obviously badly stretched.

Replacement chain kit fitted along with rear main seal, new gaskets, oil and filter and a replacement slave cylinder (customer opted to not replace clutch and flywheel on this one) and it’s back up and running 😎

If you have a 2.0 diesel Landrover / Range Rover, it is recommended to change the oil at shorter intervals such as 6000 miles to prolong the life of your chains.
