We are looking for a new technician to join the team at Shrewsbury.
Job title: Vehicle technician
Base at: E.A.Downes, Hereford road, Shrewsbury, SY37RE
Reports to: Workshop Manager
Job purpose: You will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customers vehicles to the highest standards.
Working hours:
Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm
Friday 8am -4pm
One Saturday a month - optional over time
Salary: £27,888 - £35,856
Key responsibilities:
Ø Keeping the workshop and your area clean and tidy
Ø Carry out repairs on vehicles to the correct standards
Ø Use your initiative to get on with smaller jobs whilst waiting for parts or authorization on current jobs or helping others.
Ø Diagnosing cars and filling in job sheets to be priced up for authorization with good detail for the customer understanding and the office staff to relate to customers
Ø Be able to talk to customer if needed about any ongoing or finished repairs
Ø Conducting diagnostic tests using computerized systems
Ø Interpreting vehicle fault codes and analyzing mechanical and electrical components
Ø Dismantle and repair faulty parts
Ø Perform routine maintenance tasks
Ø Test repaired vehicles to ensure optimal performance
Skills required:
You will need to have NVQ/BTEC or City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Service & Repair level 3 qualifications or equivalent, and have experience working as a fully qualified mechanic.
Excellent communications skills with your colleagues and customers.
Enjoy working as part of a team and on your own.
High attention to detail.
Driving license - preferable clean
