Such an honour to be invited to Shrewsbury College to talk all things TYRE SAFETY with the first-year Automotive and Health & Social Care students! 🛞

It’s such an important time to reach young drivers, as many are learning to drive or getting their first car. Building good tyre safety habits now could make a real difference throughout their lives!

We brought along old and damaged tyres to give students a hands-on look at what to watch out for. We also discussed the risks of part-worn tyres and why knowing a tyre’s history and condition matters… there can be more to it than the tread you can see 🔍

A huge thank you to TyreSafe for the introduction, to Cathy from Shropshire Fire & Rescue for helping to get us involved, and to Shrewsbury College for welcoming us to such a valuable day. Proud to play our part alongside everyone helping the next generation stay safe on the roads 💛

A brilliant day for Hometyre South Wales at McArthurGlen Bridgend! 🛞

We spent the day offering FREE tyre safety and pressure checks, meeting lots of lovely people and, most importantly, helping local drivers understand what their tyres were telling them.

And we found a few things worth talking about… 👀

• severe uneven wear, including a tyre worn down to the cords on one edge 😲 a great example of why wheel alignment matters.
• wear consistent with underinflation, showing why checking tyre pressures regularly 🔍 can help tyres wear more evenly and last longer.
• and the star of the day… ⭐️ a 12-year-old tyre that appeared to have covered the car’s full 55,000 miles! Proof that tread depth isn't the only thing worth checking!!

A fantastic opportunity for Hometyre South Wales to get out into the community, offer some useful advice and help motorists spot problems they might otherwise never have noticed.

⚠️ Some of the tyres we remove genuinely frighten us.

These are real tyres taken off vehicles by Hometyre technicians... and they're a stark reminder of just how important it is to regularly check the whole tyre, not just the bit that's easiest to see 🫣

We're talking about extreme and uneven wear, tyres worn through to the internal structure, serious damage and defects that simply shouldn't be on the road.

The worrying part? Some tyre problems aren't immediately obvious when you walk up to your car.

Your tyres are the only contact your vehicle has with the road, and their condition directly affects your ability to steer, brake and stay in control.

Take a few minutes regularly to check:

🔍 Tread – and look across the full width of the tyre for uneven wear
🔍 Condition – check for cuts, cracks, bulges, damage or anything unusual
🔍 Pressure – check against the vehicle manufacturer's recommended pressures
🔍 Inner edges – don't forget the areas that can be much harder to see!

If something doesn't look right, get it checked.

SEVENTEEN YEARS supporting the incredible Goodwood Festival of Speed! 🏎️🏁

It's amazing to think our relationship with Goodwood began back in 2009 and is still going strong in 2026! 🤩

A huge thank you to everyone at Goodwood for another fantastic event. Our team had an amazing weekend, supporting competitors on site while also taking the opportunity to experience everything the Festival of Speed has to offer.

One of the real highlights was spending time with the teams. It was brilliant getting to know the Ford Performance and Monster Energy Drift teams a little better – a fantastic group of people who were an absolute pleasure to work with. We're already looking forward to building on those relationships ahead of next year's event.

A special mention goes to our West Sussex franchise owner, Lee, who represented Hometyre brilliantly throughout the weekend. He worked tirelessly supporting both the drift and racing teams, battled the heat ☀️ and loved every minute of being part of the action.

He also made four young motorsport fans very happy by gifting them a set of used tyres from Mad Mike's drift car – just swipe to the second photo! 😆 It's moments like these that make events like Festival of Speed so special.

We've come away with plenty of ideas and are excited to start discussing how we can make our support even stronger as we look ahead to Festival of Speed 2027.

What a day! ☀️🚐

Yesterday we were at Swindon Designer Outlet carrying out FREE tyre pressure and tyre health checks for local motorists as part of our tyre safety day for the new Hometyre Wiltshire territory.

We met some fantastic people, fixed a few punctures, fitted some tyres and found some tyre conditions that definitely needed attention! 👀
