Here we have a good ol' fashioned flame red Vauxhall that has suffered the dreaded faded paintwork. After a short viewing of the car we decided it was the one for us. The car itself just needed a little bit of TLC. First thing was to make sure the car was mechanically as perfect as it could be. A full service was carried out including all filters including an engine flush. Next on the agenda was changing the timing belt and the water pump. Upon removing the timing cover we could see that the timing belt was actually in quite good condition and reflected the low mileage of 69k.
Once we were happy that the car had a clean bill of health, we moved onto the cosmetic side of the project. This included removing the cloudy headlights and repairing them so they looked like new. In their original state, the cloudy lights would have prevented the correct amount on light being emitted when the lights were on at night. The lights would have been an MOT failure next time round if we didn't sort them out.
Next up was the usual "pink to red" transformation as seen with some of our former work. This included decontaminating the paintwork of all dirt/tree sap etc so it could be machine polished back to life. The paint was treated to a high quality wax after all polishing was carried out.
The engine had various parts removed so we had easier access to clean everything. Once we were happy with the finish the engine plastics were treated to a nice glossy plastic restorer.
The interior was in quite good condition to begin with but none the less, it was hoovered out and any staining on the cloth interior dealt with. After all the cosmetic work was done we treated the car to a new set of number plates to set it off nicely.
Once complete the car was put up for sale and quickly sold to a happy new owner.
