After enjoying classic sports cars as a hobby for some years, my father Rob formed ROBSPORT INTERNATIONAL in 1989 (hence Robsport – Rob + sports cars!). He had quit his job managing engineers for a multi-national company, and found the only other thing that interested him was Triumphs…so off he went to California and bought back some lovely TRs and various other British classic cars, as well as a
mountain of classic spares - and so our sales and spares operation was formed! Having grown up around Triumphs, it was inevitable that my passion would also be classic cars - and so despite failing the interview with my father, I (Simon) joined the business in the early 90s after completing my own apprenticeship in electronics. We continue to operate as a family-run business - my wife and my mother complete the ‘behind the scenes’ admin and finance side of the business, my son Luke is our IT expert and developed our ordering systems and website, and my son Josh is the face of our online social media presence, has rebuilt his own Herald convertible and is often on site helping out and talking to customers. Our shop/parts warehouse enables us to stock the full range of Triumph parts, and Wayne, our Office Manager, oversees all of the parts/mail order side of the business alongside the rest of his team. Our workshops are run by Ben, our Head Mechanic, and the mechanic team continue to produce quality work with an attention to detail. Our labour rates are very competitive and our estimates are free – and we make a mean cup of tea, so do pop in to see us! Our mechanics are always available to help you with any technical support you may need. Our most common workshop visitors are Triumphs, but we work on most vehicles that we describe as old and interesting, so please do give us a call – if it has four (or even three) wheels, we would love to hear from you!
