More First Aid to study for your test !!!

New theory test questions aim to boost cardiac arrest survival rate
From autumn 2025, driving theory tests will include new CPR questions and, for the first time, questions about defibrillators to boost cardiac arrest survival.

My thoughts ! - Although I think that to have such skills as a person (not necessary a vehicle operator) is good, I personally renew my first Aid certificate every 2 years and have an Advanced first aid Mountaineering certificate. The chances of finding a Defibrillator close to the casualty and using it within 3 Minutes, (remembering that many of these machines are In a locked case and you need to phone a given number to get the access code !!!) is possibly one in a billion !!!!!!!

I don't believe to have such skills will produce better machine operators. What we need is a completely new test system. Our existing tests are not fit for purpose. The Government needs to look at professional governing sports bodies, that have been using modular systems, for many years now. Such a system alloys better personal skills development throughout the life time of the activity.

Your CBT (DVSA 196 certificate) course Info. CBT was introduced in December 1990 as part of an effort to improve the road safety of motorcyclists. The aim is to ensure that all learner riders achieve a basic level of competence before riding unaccompanied on the road. The purpose of the mandatory training scheme is to reduce the high level of accidents involving motorcyclists, particularly young and inexperienced riders.
All learner motorcyclists must complete a course of Compulsory Basic Training before riding on the road. The CBT structured syllabus,

Starting off with a talk about your course, motorcycling road craft, motorcycling equipment and basic safety, before introducing you to the bike you will use for the course. Having been shown over the bike and how to operate the controls, you will carry out supervised manoeuvres to gain experience riding the bike in a safe off-road environment. When your instructor is happy with the standard achieved, they will then give another talk about riding safely on the road, (element “D”) before taking you out onto public roads for a legal minimum requirement of two hours, AOW will do no less than 3 hours (a half day) or more, (subject to time available) until you have displayed safe and competent riding in a variety of traffic situations. Its our ethos that we will keep you and others as safe as possible and to attain a high level of experience in a great educational environment, with this in mind Adventure On Wheels On-road training will be conducted at a maximum of one pupil per instructor.

For your CBT course WE WILL provide the motorcycle and insurance, an approved in date motorcycle helmet and ALL protective clothing, to a high level.
As a new rider to a CBT course it is EXTREMELY HIGHLY LIKELY that you will require at least two full days to complete the course to a satisfactory level.
Please note all training days must be run consecutively, and booked in advance. We will run your CBT course to the duration that you chose, you just need to be realistic in how long it will take you !! Happy to advise you !
An Adventure On Wheels, CBT course will start at 09:30 AM and will finish at approximately 04:00 PM (Monday to Friday) If you are unable to complete the CBT course in YOUR chosen duration, then you will need to return for additional training which will take place on your reserved day.
Please note if you can not do our reserved day for you then you will not complete your CBT course, additional dates will not be given.

NOTE - The course we have created is designed to give you the safest and best chance of completing your CBT course. If you have no experience of riding a bike or driving on the UK roads it may take you MUCH longer than you think !!. Any theory preparation before your CBT course i.e. Highway Code, hazard perception, may increase your chances of completing within the allocated time.

The Hazard Perception test is a part of the theory exam. It requires you to view 14 hazard video clips on the computer screen of approximately one minute each.

CBT courses and test training. Now £300 per day with one to one training, and ALL equipment supplied. For Your CBT training, during your 3 or 4hr road ride, Instruction is given by a two way radio system and not like other providers that only allow the instructor to talk ! so if you have a question or any concerns during your road ride you will be able to communicate to your Instructor. 😀👍. Well Autumn is well upon us now and many of us will still be trying to get some more miles done on the bike before they start salting the roads ! This time of year can be particularly dangerous for us two wheels with wet leaves on the roads and low suns !
