Good evening all, would just like to say a BIG thank you to all those who wished me a happy birthday. Thats me 66 (just need an other 6 and I would be a little divil !!) A special occasion as thats me an OAP !! 😱however not planning to vegetate quite yet (not as cabbage as I am green !!!🤢)Wonderfull to have so many birthday wishes. Well folks, hope you have all managed to survive the 310 days !! of January😞BUT its gone and things are popping up out of the ground ! so thats a great sign 😁Soon be time to get the two wheeled bestie oot as well.👍🥳. I have another full program of events for 2024 and hope to see many of you at them,😉. Ho ho ho ! Hope you are all sorted with your Christmas gifts ! but if you are still wondering what to give that person that has everything and needs nothing then what about a "GIFT VOUCHER" for any off our B+E training courses. Vouchers start at £50 and can be used for all our B+E courses and our Enhanced/Advanced driving courses. All vouchers are Personalised with a small message from you and laminated.😉

Earlier this year the government changed the the law so that it was no longer necessary to take a test to drive with a large trailer on your car. Sadly this was not because drivers towing trailers have become safer ! It was because of a lack of examiners ! so now we have even more dangerous driving on our roads.

Drivers towing caravans & any large trailers (including Horse Box's) must understand that your trailer will always take the line of least resistance and not hold the same line as your car when going round bends, especially roundabouts ! We are now clearly seeing lots more dangerous driving on our roads.
Insurance companies are now seeing an increase on claims due to poor and dangerous driving with trailers.

DVSA Professional training providers such as AOW are still available to provide training, so if you or someone you know are planning to drive or already driving with a large trailer, to keep you, them and other road users safe tell them to get professional training !

Maximum width
The maximum trailer width for any towing vehicle is 2.55 metres.

Maximum length
If your vehicle’s maximum authorised mass (MAM) is 3,500kg or less, you cannot tow a trailer that’s longer than 7 metres.

If your vehicle’s MAM is more than 3,500kg then the maximum lengths are:

12 metres for the trailer towed by the vehicle
18 metres for the vehicle and trailer combined
3.05 metres for how far the load can overhang the back of the trailer (whatever the length of the trailer is)
Maximum lengths do not include the A-frame (the frame that connects your car to the trailer).

Would be nice to see better safer driving on our roads but sadly thats not happening !
