There’s more going on beneath the surface than you might think…🌊🦀
Seaview’s waters aren’t just home to boats, sailors and swimmers - they’re home to a whole host of marine life too. From the seabed beneath our boats to the waters around Seagrove and Priory, the Solent is an important habitat for all sorts of wildlife. 🐟🦀🌿
That’s one of the reasons we’re proud to be involved in the AMS mooring trial, in collaboration with Project Seagrass. ⚓🌱Our two AMS moorings in the Bluett Zone use a different type of anchoring system, designed to help reduce the impact on the seabed compared with traditional mooring arrangements.
This summer was the first season with boats using our AMS moorings, and we’re really pleased with how they’ve performed. It’s been a great opportunity to see them in action in our local waters, and we’re looking forward to seeing how they continue to perform in the seasons ahead.
It’s a small part of a much bigger picture - finding ways to continue enjoying Seaview’s waters while being mindful of the incredible environment beneath them. 🌊
Because there’s a lot more to look after out there than just our boats.💙
