Another local business keeping us busy! 🔧🚐
This time, we’re proud to be working with DS Projects, adding another local business to the fleets we look after.
At AutoMech, we’re one of the town’s leading fleet repairers, maintaining multiple fleets - some with up to 100 vehicles. We understand that when a work vehicle is off the road, it isn’t earning, so getting businesses moving again is always the priority.
This van came to us as a non-runner. After carrying out diagnostics, we found a burnt-out fuel tank sender unit and wiring harness. A new fuel sender unit was installed along with a new replacement plug, getting the van running again. ✅
While it was with us, we were also asked to investigate an engine management light fault that had been an ongoing issue.
The van had previously been repaired elsewhere, but once we investigated further, we unfortunately found some very poor previous workmanship. The EGR valve had been blanked off after the faulty EGR cooler had snapped and was preventing the valve from operating correctly.
We removed the previous repair and installed a new EGR system, including a new EGR cooler and valve, restoring the system as it should be.
