If first met Hannah Best 3 years, 6 months and 1 day ago! She was slightly nervous but keen to get on with the job in hand.
But as time went on, Hannah felt more and more unsettled with driving. She passed her theory and we had a couple of goes at that pesky practical test, but she didn’t seem fully ready and prepared which stopped her getting over the line.
Off she went to uni. Home again she came, degree all sorted and a brighter, more confident Hannah sat in the drivers seat, ready to get back at it!!
Hannah recently started working in Pickering, she drove to and from work with mum, thanks mum, and this helped with those nerves.
Today was the day! Hannah now is the proud owner of a practical test pass certificate and she only got 2 teeny tiny driving faults to boot.
Now time to save for a car. Or you could drive ‘The Van!’ 🤣 Then you can drive mum to work and pay back all those lifts.
Thank you for the beautiful note book. I can really torture everyone with my amazing artwork and diagrams now!! Thanks for the therapy sessions too!!

A beautiful sunny start for me and Polly Pearson this morning. 2 magpies landed in front of the car just before we set off (we did wait for them to fly off before we moved! - Eric😉) and with the roads weekend clear, we covered so much ground, it left Polly all settled and relaxed by test time. That is until I panicked as we pulled into the test centre car park to find there were already 3 cars waiting to go out and we made it 4! Not good when there are only 3 examiners. A clerical error from another student meant we were good to go and they were lucky enough to pick up another test for later today!!
Polly was soon back with a fantastic test pass and just a handful of faults! Now time to get Clio out and about, become a taxi to college and chief McDonald’s go getter!!
Mum and dad can now cash in all those lifts you’ve had over the years and return the favour!!
Best of luck with college and work. Please stay safe when you’re out and about and congratulations again!! 🥳🥳🥳

Sometimes everyone’s ducks aren’t always in a row when you want them to be.
Some things run to time perfectly, some things take longer, but in the end, everything sorts itself out and today was the day when Annabelle Taylor ticked all those boxes and went out this beautiful sunny morning, passing her practical driving test first time with just a handful of faults!
Now time to get some wheels. Then you can get to uni and up to the hospital for work.
Best of luck with everything and enjoy your new found freedom. And well done on passing before the boyfriend 🤣

I finally found someone who appreciates my accents and ability to do daft voices and then he goes and passes his test so I shall no longer be able to drive Rueben Wilsher bonkers on his driving lessons!!
Ruu was busy doing voice acting when I first met him, and by the time we finished he was not only doing that but also being a barista and fryer of fish at the open air theatre!!!
Ruu’s first test didn’t quite go to plan so we booked to go again.
A couple of hours before I was due to pick him up he rang to tell me his grandad had passed away during the night so we decided to reschedule.
Test 2 all booked, grandad struck again! It was funeral day so we rescheduled again.
So third time lucky, and grandad would have been so proud, because Ruu drove home with a fantastic pass with just a handful faults!!!
Now get yourself a car Ruu!!! Great things will come!! 😉🤣🤣
Probably see you around and about Scarborough and maybe next year at SOAT.

Gorgeous weather all day and then as soon as Naomi Drake arrives at the test centre…it changes 😭 This didn’t dampen her fighting spirit though as Naomi took us out for a drive for the last test on a Friday afternoon.
The roads were busier than I would’ve liked, I’m sure Naomi would’ve liked them quieter too, but it didn’t matter, she held her nerve and bagged herself a fabulous first time pass with just the one driving fault!!!
I taught Naomi’s sister almost 5 years ago, they are 2 very different people that’s for sure.
Lucy, quiet (ish) and considered. Took her time and was certainly the one you’d want to drive you home with a full goldfish bowl on your lap! 🐟🤣 Naomi favours the more direct route around corners and she’s not really into taking her time. Places to go, people to see, I’m off!!!! That said I’d be more than happy to have her drive me to Manchester or somewhere similar. She was more than happy to question which direction I’d asked her to go, “ Right!!??? What… Here??!!! 🤬” 🤦🏼‍♀️ but it certainly made for interesting lessons.
So now time to get the blue bomb out on the road. You can follow Connie up to college as you’ve passed that closely together you’re going to be driving separately to start with!! Please stay safe, and congratulations again!! 🥳🥳🥳

Second pass of the day goes to Harbour Bar queen of whippy ice cream, Connie Jay Hamner!!
Connie was another one who was
Suffering from nerves but then off she went and before I could blink she was back. Another strange pre test lesson too, we saw things that from a distance looked one way and then when we got closer things were not as expected. 🫈
So Connie was back before I knew it, and had it not been for her enthusiasm to get back into the test at pace, she would’ve got round the whole route without a single fault.
Meaning just the 1 teeny tiny fault and a fantastic pass.
Now time to get a car sorted, I love a seat Ibiza personally, just saying.

Fantastic start to the day!!
Wykeham Lakes water park receptionist Heidi Cutler was a tad nervous when she got in the car this morning. Her big sister passed her driving test a few weeks ago so she was feeling the pressure, but taking deep breaths and being fully immersed in nature and her surroundings really settled her nerves 🌳😉🤣.
She was worried it would be too quiet, but then was worried about talking too much.
She talked…all the way round. Then we came back to the test centre where she found out that she’d passed first time with just a sprinkling of driving faults.
Heidi has been getting a lift to college in Pickering with her friend Tristan, and now it’s time to repay the favour and take him to college whilst he sits back and enjoys the ride. I’m sure your driving will be better, I know his instructor 😂
You’ll also be able to drive yourself to Leeds fest next year amongst other places, providing you can sort a timetable out for the polo that works for both you and Poppy.
Hope your final year of college goes to plan.
Keep up the cheerleading and hopefully USA again next year. Enjoy uni when you get there, not if, but when.

A man of not so many word, Tom Gormley was quiet on our first few lessons, I soon sorted that!!! He was basically chatting all the way through his test.
So it didn’t take long to realise that Tom was finding the whole driving thing quite easy, natural behind the wheel. That pesky theory test didn’t come quite so naturally unfortunately, but it didn’t take long and we were ready to go.
This morning Tom passed his driving test, first time with just the 1 teeny tiny fault.
Now time to get out in the Adam, get yourself to college, and run around for your dad at work.

No pressure for Poppy Cutler today, she booked a test for 26th August, my son’s birthday, his 18th birthday, so please don’t ruin it!! 🤣🤣
Poppy didn’t ruin it, Poppy came back from a lovely sunny test with a fantastic pass and just a sprinkling of faults.
Poppy tried learning before about 3 years ago, but then uni happened. Rather than trying to get back on it during the holidays and rushing things, she decided to wait until uni was all finished. So this year has brought her a degree and a driving licence 🥳🥳
Hopefully soon, Liverpool will be home and in the mean time you can get some wheels and enjoy your new found freedom!!
AND…you did it before your sister 🤣🤣

Ava Hutchings has had a good few days.
She got a new job on Saturday, still at the same place, but now much more suited to what she’d like to do and is interested in.
And then this morning she goes and passes her driving test, first time, with just a handful of faults!!!
Ava had already decided she’d like me to sit in the back of the test, so when we got to the test centre, the examiner came out with her manager in tow so is was a road trip for 4!!!
She wasn’t fazed one bit, and apart from a slightly heavy right foot, 🤦🏼‍♀️, Ava brought us back to the test centre with a fantastic pass.
Leeds Fest calls next, then a holiday and hopefully after all that, a car will be next on the agenda.
Well done Ava!!! You did fantastically. Let me know what car you end up getting and then when you’re out and about make sure you stay safe. Congratulations again!! 🥳🥳🥳
