Very nearly done, got my front end back from the powdercoaters at 5pm. Custom headlight mount built, rewiring for Harley indicators, spraying them black as well. If this makes it to MOT tomorrow, it will be 15 days since I started working on the rotting co**se of this abandoned, oiless j*p cruiser. That includes waiting a week and a half for powdercoating when I was expecting it back in a few days. 😂 What have you done for the last 15 days? 😉

Really doesn't look like much, but this represents a day's work. 😂 It does include setting up my new Tig welder, spending 15 minutes practicing and then attacking the bike with a secondary mount for the rear mudguard though. Naturally the easiest thing to do when you are starting out is weld 2 3mm tabs to the thickest frame in the world, then weld a 3mm steel bar to those tabs. Came out okay in the end though, and though it's not particularly pretty (under the seat anyway) it definitely ain't going anywhere. 😏

As suspected, the tucked back end and bigger whitewall tyre look the absolute t**s.

Race bike Lucozade overflow bottle for Ollie's Supertwin. It's considerably lighter than the stock item. 😂 Ally sprocket on and cleaned up some other bits. Really starting to look the part now, getting together and less bitty looking.

Blacked out wheels and discs, whitewalls and Hagons for Nicky. Seat has also been modified to have less of a kick up at the back. Have supplied an old picture so the difference is easier to see. Waiting on the powdercoaters to get the bits for the front end back. Can't wait to see it all back together.

Cut a fair amount of wiring out of the loom in Ollie's supertwin, and then got it packaged neatly in the back on the custom subframe. Sorted the hand controls, mounted the switchgear and installed the new clutch cable. Not too pretty, but it ain't a showbike, it's a gobike built for lightweight performance. All in all a productive day.

It's time to start the build properly. Parts coming off to go to the powdercoaters, forks out for painting, wheels out for new tyres, all sorts of things. Cruiser stands are the business for working on awkward bastard bikes like this.
